Next on the schedule is a combined competition. 13 Chicks C girls; followed by 1 Chicks C boy; followed by 5 Pre-Chicks C girls. They are arranged into a group of 9 Chicks C girls; followed by a group containing 4 Chicks C girls, 1 Chicks C boy, and 5 Pre-Chicks C girls.

I suppose it is inexperience, but there seems to be a lot of skaters today finishing early and having to wait for the music to end.

The first of the Chicks C girls was waiting in her finishing position for a long time.

Another example is that girl that did the Scottish / Irish programme in the previous competition. She actually had to stand waiting twice in her programme. First for the music to change in the middle, and then for the music to finish at the end.

Awwww. That was lovely.

The two girls that were sitting with the first skater were holding up a big hand-drawn poster with her name, 2024, a skate , a pink heart , three stars , an Estonian flag , a rainbow , a Christmas tree , and two diamonds on it.

The older of the two girls that was holding up the poster was the last girl to skate today, Skater #6 in Novice B. And after she finished, the three of them were sitting together again, but this time they had a boy along with them. The younger girl that was helping her hold the poster earlier was holding another one. Unfortunately, because she is smaller, she wasn't holding it up high enough for us to see it properly. What I did see of it had her name, 2024, a Christmas tree , a pink heart , and three stars .

She went into 5th position.

Oh, and another thing I noticed - Skater #1 from Cubs B was now wearing glasses.

The younger of the girls that holds up the hand-drawn posters is back with another one for Skater #3! This time there were 4 people sitting on the seats - 3 wee girls and a male coach.

Unfortunately, we didn't get a good view of this poster because the wee girls holding it are small. The coach did try holding it up a bit higher for them, but the on-screen graphic was still in the way.

But, going by how she has her hair done up, I suspect the girl that was holding all three posters will be in action today.

Skater #3 went into the lead.

I've never seen that happen before.

Skater #8 fell while on the way to her starting position, and started crying. After a few moments, she got up and got into position. And the music started and she did her programme.

I'm not sure when she stopped crying, if it was before or after she started skating. All I know is that she wasn't when she finished the programme.

Afterwards, when she was waiting for her scores, she had a face like thunder on her. She was VERY angry with what had happened.

She went into 4th position.

Next on the schedule is a Chicks C double-bill. 13 girls; followed by 1 boy. And it is combined. A group of 9 girls; followed by a group containing 4 girls and 1 boy.

Mmmm. The very uneven numbers in the groups makes me think that the next competition may be combined into this as well. But, we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh, my goodness! There are so many skaters on the ice for the Group 2 Warm-Up that I can't count them all!

Right, here is the reminder post that I had sitting prepared for the Pre-Chicks B and C competitions. I'll edit the contents into the previous reminder post as and when I find out just who all is in this group!

Something tells me that Skater #3 hasn't been at this for too long.

She is a very small little girl (with very long hair!), and was very cautious on the ice.

Awwww. The coach actually carried her into the result area.

She goes into 3rd position.

Aha! The last girl in Group 1, Skater #9, is the girl that we saw earlier sitting beside the girl that holds the posters. I recognised her because she has her hair done up to look like a dickie bow.

She was skating to a female jazz version of "Hit The Road Jack". And I really didn't like it. The song lost all it's atmosphere the way it was being performed.

That said, the skating was good.

The girl that normally holds up the posters is not there. (I take it this means she is skating soon). Instead, we have the Chicks C girl who got a poster earlier, and the Cubs B girl who was the first that I saw getting a poster yesterday. (And before you ask, the latter girl is wearing her glasses).

Oooh, they have a poster each for Skater #9!

I love the support these girls have for each other.

She goes into 2nd position.

Skater #12 got into position, and "Black Or White" started playing, and she stood there looking confused. And eventually, she went over to the officials.

Wrong music.

To be fair, I was confused too. I didn't think this looked like the sort of dress somebody would wear to skate to Michael Jackson!

There was a pause while the music got sorted out, and then she got called again. She got into position, and this time "Dance Of The Sugarplum Fairy" was played. That made a lot more sense!

It didn't seem to unsettle her.

She goes into 4th position.

That was cute!

Skater #13 did a Middle Eastern programme. And I really enjoyed it.

Anyway, when her scores came up, she looked confused. And one of the grown-ups explained it to her. And she went "yes!" and did a fist pump!

Skater #14 was the girl that has been holding up all the posters!!!

She was wearing a red dress with black areas and lots of sparklies. But the sparklies were not just on the dress - she had a whole assortment of sparkly things stuck to her face as well.

I enjoyed her programme.

And she had a right crowd with her for getting her results. The coach and all three of the girls that were there for the last presentation about 25 minutes ago were back.

The Chicks C skater that we saw getting a poster earlier was holding a poster for her.

She went into 2nd position.

The first of the Chicks B boys has withdrawn, so we just have one boy coming up now to skate for us.

OK. I'm confused. This is a girl that is skating first.

Have they switched the boys and girls around? Or has the boy withdrawn?

Actually, if the boy has withdrawn, that would probably explain why the competition order was changed.

But, I am leaving now to have my Sunday Dinner now, so I will catch up on him and the Adult Skaters after eating.

The Lõunakeskus Trophy finishes with a double-bill of Adult skating. 2 (Estonian) Bronze ladies; followed by 1 (Latvian) Silver lady.

Now that the event is over, I was curious there to see where all the girls that had posters made for them finished up. And I noticed something interesting.

In Cubs B, Skater #1 (the one that wears glasses when off the ice) was in joint 6th position with another Estonian girl, Skater #6. And it was a true joint position, because every single number in their rows on the results table was identical.

Of course, I was cynical and wondered if this was a mistake caused by some sort of glitch with the technology. So, I went to the Protocols to check if they agreed with the results table.

On the TES tables, the Judges Marks were different, and so were the GOE's. But the total scores for the elements did add up to the same number, 13.04. As for the PCS tables, they were completely identical.

I've never seen this happen before. Has anybody else come across it before?

Anyway, getting back to what I intended to do.

Cubs B: Skater #1 - 6th out of 16
Novice B: Skater #6 - 5th out of 6
Chicks C: Skater #3 - 3rd out of 13
Chicks B: Skater #9 - 5th out of 16
Chicks B: Skater #14 - 3rd out of 16

And I just noticed something else that I didn't before. The girl that was there for all but one of the presentations, and the girl that wears the glasses, have the same surname. And very similar first names. I wonder if they are related.

All in all, it was a good result for the girls from Uisuklubi Diana.
