2024 Skate Milwaukee | Jul 8-12

I adore Jacob, and have since he was 14, but consistency is not and never has been his middle name. :(. He's not that far out however.

So far so good for Taira and his SP with choreo by Jason Brown :hap10:

Weren't there rumours that she was thinking of quitting at some point last season?
She's been absent from her coaching team's IG page since Nationals and her coaches are there with some of their other students. 🥲
I could see that being the case, it seems she has been pushed by her coaching teams/other factors that may have caused burnout.

Caleb 4s on spins tho 2 on footwork. But all 6s in PCS. Hope I can see some of these vids.

Annika Chao!! 👏
I forgot about her in this field.
Is she the tall girl that finished 2nd last year? I just remembered how much I like her as a skater. She must have skated clean.
Leading with 64.25, with 8 skaters to go

She finished 2nd at last year's Junior Team Cup. She had a 5th place finish at JGP Thailand too.

Ok. That is the one. I think being so tall at 13 years old, is working to her advantage as she must be used to her jumps at her height and I don’t expect her to grow that much more

Grayson withdrew from the free skate. I was wondering if he'd do another 3A attempt there, guess that will have to wait for NextGen.

I was hoping he would. Why not practice one more time before NextGen?

I saw on the club page that they offer streaming. $10 a day, and no audio per the new rules.
No audio? Is that a movie by Charles Chaplin? maybe a new game show " guess the song version" ,😁😁🤣🤣

About Soho Lee is strange that. like @Jeanie19 said the unique competition for qualify to junior Grand Prix , her absence makes me a lot noise also her ig isn’t updated (her last post was in January), maybe sounds like a recovery of an injury or a quiet retirement. I hope that just be a recovery of an injury and not a quiet retirement.

Yeah, he isn't entered for Skate Ontario next week, this would've been good to do it here if there weren't other issues.

I did see James Cha had a 3A attempt in his free, so one Canadian Junior Man attempted it in the free. I don't think he'll be at NextGen this year, but I'm going to keep an eye on him.

New USFS music policy, they can't have music on livestreams or competition videos (does not apply to NBC/Peacock.). They have blanket licensing that covers music rights for the competitions, but not for streaming yet.

By the way, congrats to Hiro Kaewtathip (THA) who won in the Junior Men category of the non-Junior Cup part of the event.

This is his first Junior season (he turned 13 last November) and I think we'll see him on the JGP circuit.
Almost exactly a year ago, he was "only" using 3S and 3T in competitions, and now he's doing 3Lz+3T in the SP.

Wow, I did not see that coming for Patrick Blackwell, winning this event😲. Good for Sasha Fegan and his second place.

Sad that Taira could not hold on to second, but he did relatively well absent a fall which messed up his combo (?) (reading protocols is not my gift). Jacob not only fell, but had a time violation😟 Presumably he finished late.

Also Kai Kovar did not have a great skate, falling from first to seventh. Falls and pops will do that.....
