Sadly it's very typical of the way NBC covers the Olympics, which is why many people can't wait for their contract to cover the Olympics to be up. It's awful.I could understand if they didn't show figure skating until x o'clock and only the top skaters - but to have all the replays from the short program and the commentators talking very uninteresting stuff instead of showing the actual competition that's going on for an hour, that's a bit crazy.
and then started showing a completely different sport, like rugby......I know - it's insane - imagine the outcry if there was a premier league football match showing, and instead of screening it, they showed replays of another previous match, and only showed live coverage of the second half of the match.....

depends of how fast a runner you areHow long is this break? (Do I have time to run to the bakery for brioche?)
If it makes you feel better, on the world feed, we are getting shots of the audience members getting up to powder their noses, during the intervalNBC now showing a world record speed skate.

Now we have DanceCam in the arena…
I found some old vhs tapes from the 2002 Olympics and it reminded me of how they used to interrupt skating with cross country skiing, luge etc and no indication if the figure skating coverage was over or if they’d go back in 5-10 minutes. I guess it’s still like that on live tv which makes me grateful for streaming, even if it does involve a lot of jumping through hoops.Sadly it's very typical of the way NBC covers the Olympics, which is why many people can't wait for their contract to cover the Olympics to be up.
