Don't they always use the top five anyway? I rarely if ever watch the gala, but the times in the past that we skated in one, that was the rule then. The top five, the top local skater(s) from the host city/country, and then a few other crowd-pleasers. But that was a long time ago.I wonder if Stephen will be invited to the gala.
It’s medalist and then at the discretion of the organizing committee.Don't they always use the top five anyway? I think it's only the top 3 who are guaranteed. Sometimes you'll have someone who is 8th or 10th, and not the one who is 4th or 5th.Don't they always use the top five anyway? He's already in. I've seen the lists floating around the internet for women, pairs, and men.I wonder if Stephen will be invited to the gala.
well... with Vincent, Piper and Paul scored about triple axel higherAt this point I am hoping Piper and Paul do decide to quite. It really looks like the USA team is being set up as world champs for next year. They were very close to beating the CANs in the free dance. Hate to see they go on hoping for a world title only to have it taken away.
That’s a real bummer. They were capable of placing top 10, or maybe notCanada gets 2 spots for next season. Kelly Ann/Loucas would have needed to finish at least 10th for Canada to get 3.
InterestingWas going to post this in the Dance thread but it probably won't be received well by some, but I find it interesting that with an American Controller all 3 USA teams got 6 level 4s while most of the other top teams, including Piper and Paul only got 4 level 4s.
I think they were capable but they skated poorly and many who are on the same sort of scoring trajectory as they are, skated well...That’s a real bummer. They were capable of placing top 10, or maybe not
You got that mostly right!Had a feeling that the USA teams would finish ahead of LaLa when I saw the panel, and so far one has surpassed them. Will not be surprised if G/P do too. So they will be down around 9 or 10th. Now worried for Piper and Paul. Can see the Brits and the top USA team going 2nd and 3rd with Piper and Paul in fourth.
Yeah, that skate was... messy. I thought their scores were very fair considering what they put on the ice and at least one very noticeable error. Definitely listen to home run, but they still got silver, and it allows them to retain their Vincent moment from the Olympics.Piper and Paul are daredevils for sure.
We could see they were tentative at times but they made it work. PHEW.
Congratulations to them. I don't want to thank them just yet. For some reason, I am thinking they could easily do one more season![]()
Yeah, from their mixed zone comments they knew it too and that looks like it played into it.That’s a real bummer. They were capable of placing top 10, or maybe not
