I was just about to make this thread, so thank you for saving me some time :)😅

Some additional information:
  • International age groups have the same requirements (both in terms of age and in terms of content) as at international competitions - So no "skating up" as seen in other countries domestically
  • "Jugend" is intended for Junior-aged skaters with lower technical content (often hobby skaters), with 2A and triples not being allowed in the SP
  • Categories split into two groups (Advanced Novice Women and Jugend Women) are split by age (older half in group A, younger half in group B)
  • In addition to the competition, there is a gala (usually also livestreamed) on Saturday, 13.12., at 18:30
  • Grimm/Rodin and Kishimoto/Savitskiy may or may not appear outside of competition, as other teams waiting for releases have done so in the past (sometimes on video, sometimes after the stream was cut)

This must have been one of Clara-Sophie's better skates in recent years, based on their happy reaction. I remember when she used to do pairs (with Ilia, who is also competing here with his (by now not so new) partner), she was a wee little thing then. 🥹

Johanna Webner only did doubles, but she has nice spins and a solid program. StSq3, too, that's pretty good.

Nicole behind the boards ❤️ Sophie did really well with the 3Lz+3T, a little off-axis but she got it done. Step-out on the Loop, but clearly at a completely different level compared to the skaters before her. The step-sequence was definitely the highlight of the program, well done ☺️

Not sure about rotation, but Adelina also got the 3Lz+3T done :) Fall on the loop, though :( Still, I feel like this is probably the best she has performed this program, even if it wasn't perhaps the best she's done technically.

For context, Anna and Diana are separated by only 1.1 points in the Junior Worlds qualification, so this competition is hugely important for both of them.

Anna started this battle really well, with a clean SP (little wobbly on the 2A landing, but nothing major) :) Let's see if Diana can match that.

Yes, she can. Clean SP for Diana too :D Really proud of the girls today - I really hope whoever gets sent to Junior Worlds has a great time and manages to finish high enough for a few more JGP spots.

(Also, 4 landed 3Lz+3Ts is great - They might not all have been rotated, but it's definitely a promising sign. Edit: 3 out of 4 were called clean, they only gave Sophie's 3T an UR call.)

Luisa Seifert is kind of giving me Ice Dance vibes - She has nice hands and lines outside of jumps (and the dress is kind of Gabi Papadakis-like).

Very, very pleased with the Junior pairs - They did really well for their level. 3 landed 2As (2 of them clean), no falls or invalid elements.

Anfisa and Lukas are currently the only team with Jr Worlds minimums anyway, and they underlined their position as the clear leaders with a clean program. They have the best technique on the pairs elements and I definitely think they'll be able to upgrade the twist and throw to triples in due time, maybe for their Senior debut next season.

Frida and Hugo were great for a super new team. The 2As and the throw were no issue, as expected, but I was pleasantly surprised with the lift and death spiral. Good technique, even if the difficulty (on the lift) and GOE aren't quite there yet. The twist is still very much a work in progress, but that also seems to be the element that just takes a little bit of time for skaters transitioning from Singles.

Sonja and Robert skated quite well, they landed the 2A (UR, but still). Their twist and lifts always look a little awkward and difficult, but they get them done nonetheless.

Sophie and Ilia look to be getting back to the sort of form they had in Novices, lovely to see. Their technique on the twist and lift is fairly solid (though you wouldn't know from the GOEs they are given - Judge 2, I am watching you), they just need some more time to settle into Juniors, deal with injuries and growth, and maybe learn a 2A.

Aww, Felix 🥹 Not perfect, but possibly the best he's done this season. He's one of the youngest guys here, so there's still some time to grow and improve, and he seems to be in good hands for doing exactly that. Yuri on Ice is such a good choice, I wish more skaters would use it (okay, I might be saying that because I love the anime, but shhh).

Just checked he was still competing in novices last year? I'm impressed! (Btw are we allowed to speak German on here or? I wouldn't mind either way, just asking)

How many spots does Germany have for Junior Worlds?
Two for men and dance, one for pairs and women.

The selection pool is determined by two minimum scores (ISU TES minimum and DEU minimum total score), and the skaters are then sorted by their three highest scores plus their Nationals score (I think?). Felix, for example, has just reached the DEU minimum score, but he doesn't have the ISU TES minimums, so he's currently not in the running for one of the two spots.

I think the three skaters in the selection pool following Nationals are Genrikh, Leon and Soner.

Yes, he was still a novice last season, and immediately moved up to Juniors in his first season of eligibility - Others stay in Novices for a season or two beyond that like Michelangelo, for example.

(Not sure about language, but with translation programs being quite literally widely available at the press of a button, it's probably not a big issue? Maybe someone else knows the rules better?)
