2025-26 German Nationals

Luca Fünfer: Interesting music choice, fitting costume, simple and effective. Goes into the program with good esprit but his jumps are a mess. He needs to do a lot more meditation. 🤔

Genrikh: Two nice quads and a good 3A. Clean run, easily takes the lead. Choreo looks a little uninspired but very good job overall.

That was much more like it 💪 Of course, still lots to work on (spins and PCS), but he got it done to the best of his abilities today, congratulations to him 🎊👏

Nikita looks a little shell-shocked by Genrikh's result. Messes up all his ultra-c jumps. Fights well afterwards with no luck. At least he tried.

And I don't know what to make of his costume. Looks like a borderline case for Elektra's notebook to me.

Kai Jagoda gets me hooked from the start with Rach2. Unfortunately he pops too much and struggles on his second 3A. Decently expressive stseq. But not enough to win.

Not perfect, but really good.

This is much closer to the Kai I have been waiting to see, and I'm glad to see him in this form after some difficulties at the start of the season.

Nailbiter, that with Kai and Nikita. Although no wonder Genrich beats them all hands down, Butsaeva's boys always jump good and suffer in PCS 😉

Hmmm, I wonder how the nominations for German men in EC, WC, and JWC will turn out. Sending Genrikh to all three seems a bit too much.
Anyway, with perfomances like this none of the guys will make the FS at Worlds. Strategically, it probably makes sense the send Genrikh to EC to get him familiar with the pressure and excitement of a ISU championship and then give him worlds as well and hope for the best. But then who will get next years JGP quota places at JWC?

I'd send him to Euros and Jr Worlds and then make a decision about Sr Worlds closer to the event - Jr Worlds is important for all Juniors next season, so it's important he goes.
