I had to check her protocols because her high TES since I thought she had popped two jumps at the end of her program and I thought her TES wouldn´t be so high and that she would be just short of the minimums because of those pops. I thought maybe I had looked wrong. But no, in fact she did a 2Lz and 2F in the end of the program and lost some points there. But she had some strong opening jumps 3Lz-2A, 3S-2T-2Lo, 2A-3T she even got over 6 points alone for solo jumps as 3F and 3S - particular for a salchow that is great GOE, you don´t often see a salchow get 6.02 points with a BV of 4.73 (I checked Skatingscores - her best rewarded salchow before that was 5.54). Her TES would have been close to 70s actually if she had bene able to land the triple flip and lutz towards the end. Only negative GOE was on her 2A-3T which had a little stumble and I think with others judges the 3T would probably have been called under or gotten a q (I watched the skate). I think honestly she was a little lucky with the judges but I´m sure others have been so also through the season with others competitions so I don´t think it was undeserved at all. Also she competed against Olivia and Oona with the same judges and Olivia had the chance but unfortunately she did a 1Lz and 1Lo which is more costly then doubling the jumps (Linnea still got positive GOE on the doubles).Finland has clear rules about the spots for Worlds. Two best scores will count and another one must be international. To EC international had To be GP or Cs, but for Worlds that score can be replaced by some other international ISU competition earned at the second part of the season. Based in that Janna was in lead just less than one point before Olivia. Before Linnea's skate Olivia would have needed 167,87 To go the top. But because Linnea got minimums and good score here she is now on the top. I think it is her all time pb including all nationals so I was not expecting this, esocually after Euros and missing minimums until yesterday so I did not count her as a candidate. Today local federation will select Linnea for worlds if they follow their own rules.
Linnea took silver at Nordics and even placed higher than Janna at Euros, so it´s not like she just randomly won one competition and got highest score and then ended up with a spot, she is well deserving of it as well with other results. All though of course the rules of selection is clear .
I think it´s good that Linnea got the mins and can go to Worlds, if she can stay calm and skate a clean SP even with 3Lz-2T combo it´s more likely that she qualifies and secures an Olympic spot then if Janna had skated a similar program because she tends to get calls, and if Janna had skated something similar like in Milano she might have been on the bubble and not qualify (of course depends on what others do). I think Janna relies more on the triple triple to get a higher score where Linnea can get away with triple double. I´m sure if Linnea skates clean she is guaranteed to qualify because of components as well along with high quality on technical elements. Linnea sometimes had issues with timing and popping jumps so that is that, but it seems it mostly towards the ends of her long program (so possible stamina issues), so i´m not worried about her doing it in the SP at Worlds.
