2025 Canadian Nationals: General Info and pre-game chat

Sorry to interrupt the pre-game chat, but I don't see a "Where are you watching" thread. I'm American and have Peacock Premium. A week or so ago, most of the "tiles" for the Canadian Nationals events were up on the Peacock website. But now they have all disappeared. Does anyone know if I'll be able to watch on Peacock, or any other way to watch for an American without a VPN?? I'll be really bummed if I can't at least watch the ice dance competition!

I don't think they've ever been on Peacock.

You'll be fine to watch without a VPN, the streams are available on Dailymotion free with no geoblocking.

English - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9bykcq
French - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9byk5e (if the English stream glitches, the French one is usually fine)

But can you multi-quote (quote two different posts in the same reply)? 🤔

I've never tried. Knowing my lack of technical skills, probably not :scratch2::rolleye:
You can quote more than one post in a message.

Click on +Quote in the bottom right of the first post you wish to quote.
Then click on +Quote in the bottom right of the next post you wish to quote.
Next click on Insert quotes... on the bottom left of your post.
After the quotes appear, click below the last quote and type from there.

I hope that's helpful!

You can use multi-quote with a single quote as well. If you just click on one +Quote and follow the other steps. It will look just like it does if you use reply. That's how I did this post.

Incidentally, if you go around clicking the +Quote button too much, you can wind up with quotes you don't really want. You can get rid of them by finding them and pushing +Quote a second time. Or you can just insert them and then delete that text; that can be easier than hunting for them!

I can hear my family now, laughing hysterically.

Seriously though, I appreciate attempts to teach me these things. I'll save these instructions and if I ever want to do that, I'll give it a try. I may blow the entire GS forum into a Black Hole in cyber space somewhere, because I have a history of doing things like that which were, in theory, impossible. My family don't allow me to touch a smart phone, for instance. They know me too well. But I'll follow instructions and pray a lot..

I thiiiiiink we should stick with what I know. My grad studies in medieval languages didn't include Computerese. Something along the lines of an ABC picture book is more my level. But :thank:.

I haven't gotten the hang of multi-quotes yet as well and I'd consider myself at least a bit tech-savy :D

I can't wait for Friday night btw. It's been too long since Finlandia, can't wait to see Deanna and Max skate again. From what I heard their practices have been going really well and they have made some changes to their free skate, that should be exciting 😁😁😁

Clearing the citizenship hurdle must feel like a shot of adrenaline for their training. Their dreams are becoming a reality and it will be so exciting to watch.:laugh3:

She said that it was always somehow present in her mind during competitions, I bet in training it won't have been that much of a difference. And to have that pressure lifted off them must be such a great feeling :love2:

Yep, every now and then I'll quote, say two posts but get a third "bonus" quote from something I must have quoted earlier and didn't realize it or whatever so I have to delete it before posting. So I'm glad you mentioned that because it's good advice to make sure what you actually quoted is what you intended. LOL

that's why a message was sent to all players of the game so they can remove him in time. They have until Friday anyways.
Got it. I understand now why I didn't get a message because I hadn't selected my predictions yet. Duh. Thanks, 4everchan! I'm so sad that Wesley won't be there this year as well as Gogolev. Good luck to the other men!

When you choose "Include Quotes," they will show you all the quotes you have selected in any threads anywhere on the site. Each quote has a "Remove" option under it. If you hit Remove, that particular quote will not be included in your reply. However, if you wanted to use that quote in the different thread, forget it. Once you hit Remove, there is no record anywhere that you ever wanted to quote it

I am surprised at how few people are including Uliana in their top 5. Have I missed an injury or something?

No injury from what I can see. Joanne McLeod posted a pre-Nationals post for her on Instagram a day ago:

I think it's a case of Senior Women being hard to predict since it should be more competitive this year. Even after increasing the number of women with Senior minimums, someone without Senior minimums won Challenge again. I'd have her in the top 5 if I played, but I have no idea where she'd place.

hi there! Welcome to Goldenskate ! I have no idea. I looked just now at my tickets and the hours correspond to the events and no mention of practice sessions. I do not think they are included like they were at worlds...
I just asked Skate Canada and they said you can attend the practices on the days you have tickets! And the practice rink is right next to Place Bell!
