2025 Ephesus Cup | Jan 20-26

Yes, I was caught out by the "DJ trap" in the middle of the programme. There was a second or so of silence in between the first piece and the second piece, and I was thinking "eh?! That was a very short programme!" But then the second piece started, and I felt a right idiot!

She was good! Alieva has something to worry about.

New leader of both the FS and overall. By four or five country miles! :jaw:

She is 20.29 points ahead of previous leader Veronika KIM (KAZ) in the FS, and 31.42 points ahead of her overall. :dbana:

Oh that 2A mishap likely lost Igna the gold:console:
I kinda wish she would leave out that 3A at this point she has landed it only handful of times I competition in the last 3 seasons she has been going for it, it doesn't look to be becoming any more stable either and she really doesn't need it right now.

Time to finish off the ISU part of the event, and Friday's competitive action, with some Junior chaos!

4 Turkish skaters, followed by 2 Kazakh skaters.

That's a good start. The first skater, Efe ÇETIZ (TUR), has withdrawn.

So, straight onto #2 Atilla Arda ŞAHINOLANLAR (TUR).

Oh, yeah! 🦂 The Scorpions!!!

And that brings an end to the ISU part of the event.

The Interclub part of the event starts at 7:30am local time tomorrow morning. Given that that is 4:30am my time, I will hopefully still be asleep, and so will not be able to put up a post at the start of proceedings.

But, I hope to get all the links up before I go to bed tonight.

The Day 5 action started an hour ago, but I've only just arrived. (I was actually awake when it started, but I was too tired to get up).

The penultimate skater in Group 2 of the Chicks 2 Ladies FS, Skater #14, is about to start.

Here is the link for today's livestream:

Hope this helps

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

The resurfacing isn't until after Group 3, but now that the Group 3 Warm-Up is on, I just wanted to say how enjoyable the first three programmes I saw were.

I don't know what Skater #13 was skating to, but she was wearing a cool green costume. And the music was fun. Unfortunately she had 2 falls, and went into 9th position.

Skater #14 was doing a "Wizard Of Oz" programme ("Somewhere Over The Rainbow", with a little bit of "We're Off To See The Wizard" at the end), and was dressed just like Judy Garland was in the film. I thought she was good, but she went into 11th position.

Skater #15 was skating to an instrumental piece that we often see being skated to. I'm not actually sure what colour the dress she was wearing was supposed to be, but it was blending very well into the ice. It was funny after she finished, because there were so many gifts thrown down that she was struggling to gather them all up. And then when she got to the resutls area, she slouched into the armchair, and the grown-up with her dragged her up to sit straight! (I suspect it was her Dad). She went into 8th position.

Glad I got up. But, maybe I should have got up sooner.

Skater #20 is our third withdrawal, after Skaters #1 and #2.

So, we go straight onto a "Palladio" programme from Skater #21. Big music for a tiny little girl. But she pulled it off.

They kept her waiting a very long time for her scores. That's not fair on the youngster.

But it was worth the wait. She goes into 2nd position.

Skater #26 is somebody to keep an eye on for the future. She is a born performer. Seeing the way she finished her programme is all the proof you need of that.

She goes into 10th position.

The only international skater in this field, Skater #28 from Estonia, went into 2nd position.

One of her older sisters won the 🥉 Bronze Medal in Advanced Novice Ladies yesterday, and another older sister is one of only two international skaters in the Cubs 1 Ladies FS later on today.

Definitely worth the trip to İzmir!

Straight onto the Chicks 1 girls.

And apologies that I accidentally pasted the link for the Chicks 2 Time Schedule PDF into the table again for Chicks 1. :palmf: :slink: I've just fixed it.

"JUPITER"!!!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

Thank you to Skater #8, a Turkish girl with a very Slavic name, for skating to Holst's masterpiece!

She goes into 4th position.

The next two skaters were using the exact same music as each other!

Skater #9 went into 5th position, and then Skater #10 pushed her down to 6th when she took over 5th position.

There is just 0.04 points separating them! :drama:

Gaaaahhhhh!!!! They forgot to switch the sound back on when the first skater after the resurfacing, Skater #13, did her programme.

And she went into 2nd position! :drama:

I realise that there aren't many people watching this, but is anybody else finding that the stream has been very jerky and frequently freezing ever since the resurfacing?

I know the ethernet cable going to my laptop is loose due to the clip on the plug being broken, but that has been the case all week. And there has been no problems with the stream until the past half hour.

Touch wood, but everything seemed to go back to normal when Skater #17 started her programme.

She was skating to "Jailhouse Rock". But, she actually went to the effort of dressing up as Elvis. And it was so cute!

She goes into 10th position.
