2025 European Championships Women's Short Program

wow... so close! It's really going to come down to the free, and even Julia Sauter in 8th is just 7 points back of the title - it will be so exciting on Friday!
She's not physically able to compete unless they all fall over before her, I think it's only between the top 4. Still, of anyone in the top 4 I think Petrokina will fall apart finish 4th or 5th. Guttmann if she has the skate of her life she can win (she looked good in the SP so maybe but very unlikely to me).

Kimmy looked really solid I think she will take it out. I'm hoping Nastya will, and she's probably the best in these kind of situations where something is up for grabs.

I'm scared what will Katia do in FS now that it doesn't need to be the redemption skate. It will be great comp to watch.

A lot of good mediocre skating. Not great. Not outstanding. Not awe inspiring. I keep saying we need to focus on who we have not who we don't. We have 5 or 6 skaters who could win. Not likely to be huge world medal threats but interesting.

Can they fix it? Does it affect her final score?
I don't think so because it's not the first time we've had input errors this season, and those weren't fixed, either.

It does affect her final score since the lowest score is dropped. So, the math could change depending on what the judge meant to enter.

That was not an event of glory in terms of judging.

Petrokina would have been higher than Gubanova had Judge no. 9 not given her 0,75 in SS (instead of 7,75 very likely). PCS would be 31,55 and her total score 69,00.

Gubanova's Lutz was not called but I won't complain since she was treated strictly in the past.

Three judges gave Repond minus GOE for her combo because her 3F looked two-footed in real time with that swingy foot and leg, but she didn't actually. The judges need to see the same replays as viewers. With positive GOE Kimmy would have been in the lead over Petrokina.

I'm going to really embarrass myself here.

During the Warm-Up, Chris mentioned that Flora Marie SCHALLER (AUT) had competed at Skate Chile, and I was going to crack a joke about skating in the cold. ("Skate Chilly", get it?)

But then I decided to keep it serious, and was going to ask @jorge2912 about the event, because I couldn't find out anything about it, and I was impressed that Flora Marie had gone all the way there.

So, I looked up her Rink Results bio. And that was when it suddenly dawned on me. Chris was tallking about Skate Celje. :palmf:

Lol , well sometimes words sounds similar phonetically, was looking up in the worldwide score database and lol she never represented to Chile. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 . No worry also I heard something similar and I'm watching the replay of the Europeans. As far I know Yae-Mia Neira Schärer competed until 2023 with Chilean flag living in Switzerland and between Schaller and Schärer sounds similar I think

Some judges did, but it was still positive GOE overall. Petrokina had a bigger scoring issue with the accidental 0.75 in PCS and the camel level 2 which should’ve been level 3-4.

Well done Kimmy. With her long limbs she gives me a glimpses of queen Carolina. Not the same sophistication yet but a really beautiful lines.
She's in and out: at moments she hits fabulously elegant lines, then it dissolves into gawkiness. Maybe some positions could be held a shade longer.

We were fantasising about her getting some guidance from Caro about how to make those super long limbs a consistent asset. Her body has changed quite a lot in the last couple of years, and I'm hoping as she matures further, the sophistication will follow.

I really liked Kimmy in her first breakthrough season but less so now, I am afraid, it feels like she is skating the same program every season albeit to a different music and its kinda becoming rather boring. I don't see a long career for her like Caro had. Caro was very athletic to start with and always had a great technique to rely on. She did not need to watch her weight as Kimmy had to, it is not sustainable in a long run. But if Kimmy proves me wrong I shall be only happy!

Maybe it is blessing in disguise - it will be easier for Niina in the free not skating last and not being in the lead after the short. I passionately want her to medal (the first for Estonia!).
The judges giving more to Anastasia in SS is :angry4: their speed across the ice is incomparable but nothing is new there:shrug:
