Thank you. How's Sheffield in terms of hotels/transportation/access from London?

Bought my ticket earlier too. It's about 2 hours on the train from London to Sheffield. In Sheffield; you can get a Tram which stops at the Arena. Not looked at the hotel prices yet.

I think it used to be, but not for a long while. Maybe Sheffield 2012 was the last time?

The BBC page is extremely optimistic about medal chances in all 4 disciplines.

I think it could have been 2014 as I seem to have a recollection of Sue Barker and Robin waxing lyrical about Lipnitskaya's Schindlers List routine.

In Germany, Eurosport/Discovery holds the broadcasting rights for the Championships, so the YouTube links are blocked. However, you can access them with a VPN from the Netherlands. Discovery also offers the option to watch with the original English commentary

I know ;-) I am just always happy if something is on youtube because that's easier to watch on my TV then, discovery needs a bit of technical adjustment...and all the links were there yesterday and are now deleted, so thanks for getting my hopes up ISU

Oh, I know that struggle But ever since I started using the Discovery app with Apple TV, I’ve preferred their ad-free option over ISU/Youtube.

I used to have a Eurosport subscription which was great because there was an app for my TV When they ended their streaming service or better handed it over to discovery, I thought about subscribing via amazon because that would also work with my TV without problems, but they'd only offer me the German audio and I didn't want that

Oh that‘s frustrating in that case I would go with the vpn/youtube option, because I can‘t stand the german commentators as they are always uninformed about anything about the sport. But when it comes to gossip they are doing very great

I thought that the commentary at Nebelhorn was ok, this guy doesn't do Euros? But I feel you, polish commentary is so very bad that I choose ISU channel without a string of hesitation. Funny thing is that I know this very bad commentator personally - we work for the same media group and I think she is erm... not necessarily very smart.

For Nebelhorn it was Daniel Weiss, he covers competitions for ARD. Eurosport has its own commentators.

The new Radisson hotel in the city centre was doing offers when it opened. I don't know much about the other hotels.

It's very easy to hop on a tram from Sheffield city centre to the arena (it's about 15 minutes).

Direct trains go from London St Pancras or you can change at Doncaster. About 2 hours/2 and a quarter hours for either option.

There are buses from the city centre to the arena, too.

There are some hotels near the arena, but it's not an interesting area around there. There are a few hotels in the city centre, and a couple of mid-range hotels in the Victoria Quays neighbourhood (Quays Hotel and Crowne Plaza). From the Quays to the nearest tram stop is about 10 minutes walk.

The Ibis hotel in the city centre is right next to a tram stop

From Australia, I'm watching the ISU Youtube stream with VPN set to Netherlands.

Sooo thankful that the free Proton VPN app in my Google TV still allows me to select the free 3 countries (one being the Netherlands) rather than just defaulting to the closest country to me (which always gonna be Japan...). The free Proton in my computer and Android phone now always defaults to the closest country. I hope Proton rep won't read this and force me to upgrade the app in my TV

Just got to the arena! It’s really nice but the rink feels on the smaller side.

Seems to me the variation in rink size from event to event could have the unfortunate result of changing the timing/execution of the entire program, including the time of conclusion.
