2025 Japanese Junior Nationals | Nov 22-24

The 94th All Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (第94回全日本フィギュアスケートジュニア選手権大会) also known as the 2025 Japanese Junior National Figure Skating Championships, will take place Nov 22-24, in Tokyo Tatsumi Ice Arena, Tokyo. Top placing skaters in the single's categories will be invited to the Nationals.

Indeed there's this statement: 'アイスダンスは全日本選手権大会（12月18日～21日）の中で実施する。エントリーは全日本選手権
大会と同じ期間に行うこと。'

So the entry to Jr. dance category will be announced later, until the announcement of Japanese Nationals.

Some info about funding and updates made to the recommendation process for Juniors to Senior Nationals~

Junior Singles skaters who finish within Top 6 in this competition (vs Top 8 since 2022) will be considered for recommendation
to compete in the upcoming Senior National Championship (note: this quota seems fluid and will likely be determined by final scores)
A recommendation is NOT guaranteed and dependent on decisions made by the federation
Novice skaters who finish within Top 6 are not age eligible to participate in Senior Nationals
Current National Junior Champions Mao Shimada and Rio Nakata placed on the podium at Senior Nationals last season,
automatically qualifying both a spot in this year's National Championship
If Mao, Rio or a Novice competitor places within Top 6 in this competition, the federation will then decide whether or not
to extend a Senior Nationals invite to the next skater in line

Providing no changes are made to the funding quotas used in recent years,
Junior Singles skaters, including any Novice competitors placing within Top 8 at Junior Nationals will receive federation funding
for the 2026~27 season
If a skater finishing lower than 8th at Junior Nationals is invited to compete in Senior Nationals, they will need to place within Top 12
at Senior Nationals to receive federation funding for next season

For now, BS Fuji is scheduled to only air Junior Women's FS Groups 3 & 4 (live) on Monday, November 24th 6:00pm~7:55pm JST
(1:00am~2:55am PST...so an hour or two later for you?...not sure which time zone you're in)
Since you enjoy watching the Japanese Women skate these two groups will likely have the skaters you'd be most interested in seeing live
And if being up at that time of the morning is a no go you can always watch later on demand

An addendum to my previous post regarding guidelines for recommendation to "Senior" National Championship
(trying to clarify but honestly confused as to what JSF is actually going to do)

If and after the Top 6 eligible Junior Men and Junior Women are confirmed for Senior National participation
(seeds Mao Shimada and Rio Nakata aside) the final 3 available Men and Women's spots will be filled with the top scorers from
East Sectional, West Sectional and/or Junior Nationals who have not already qualified
Meaning there could very well be 9 Juniors per Singles discipline advancing to Senior Nats rather than only 6 (again, Mao and Rio aside)

Barring disaster (no jinx!), I'm quite confident the Top 9 eligible Juniors in both disciplines will score higher than the Senior skaters
listed above...and pretty certain JSF would've already anticipated this possibility as well
Questioning if the new procedure to fill the last 3 spots is as explicit as stated and justification for the federation to potentially advance more Juniors than previous seasons without angering fans who were already upset with the increase from 6 to 8 in 2022
Or will there be a threshold score or other qualifications for the Juniors to meet in order to be selected over the listed Seniors
At the very least this update should ensure no spots will go unfilled as they have been in the Women's event for the past few seasons
...which I'm guessing is most likely the primary reason for the change
