As mentioned by @cohkaix in the previous post,
it's been decided that the remaining spots in Singles after recommendations will also be filled by Juniors since their scores earned at
Junior Nationals are higher than the Sectional scores of Senior skaters who have not already qualified

Advancing by score
MEN
Hayato Okazaki - Jr Nats 8th
Shun Uemura - Jr Nats 9th
Yujin Takeda - Jr Nats 10th

WOMEN
Kaoruko Wada - Jr Nats 9th
Saiki Ikkanda - Jr Nats 10th
Yo Takagi - Jr Nats 11th

I'll be honest, this decision will likely upset a lot of Japanese fans...or maybe not since everyone was already anticipating this outcome

What an amazing competition!!

I hope Japan sends these top three boys and girls to Junior Worlds.

Rio is a beast. Skating injured and skating like this proves he is the top junior boy and favourite for the JGP finals.

Mao - Barely won….
Mayuko - Wow!! She was awarded by skating the free program of her life

Mei and Sumika - good 3A attempts 👏

Karin - So solid (see you in the JGP circuit next season)

I’m so proud of Kei Yamada though…
After being overlooked for so many seasons, I hope she finally gets to leave Japan to compete internationally

Kaoruko 🫂 (I thought she deserved at least 7th). But, good comeback

And now Aoi is skating to One OK Rock?? Seems like we have a little rockstar here

Finally a program with real choreo sequence, and I love his costume too! I wonder who is his choregraphers?
Great to see him & his coach happy with the scores :jump3:

Just saw this post
Both of his programs were choreographed by Rie Takeuchi

Just curious. If I watch this comp on Japanese TV, how will it be different?

I just want to say, Karin Miyazaki was spectacular, the best program for me. I can't even think of a senior skater who could pull off this program with the speed, transitions, spirals, interpretation, performance, and skating skills she delivered. She is the full package! It's a shame she is still a novice, so her scores are conservative, but when she moves up to juniors next year, I can’t wait to see how she impresses us even more with her progression.

Edit: Sad for Mao's free. Is she still injured? I don’t think so, since she planned the triple Axel and the quad toe loop. It seems more like she’s still not in the form to perform the quad consistently as she did at the start of the season, and the fall may have made her lose confidence. Anyway, she tends not to do her best at Junior Nationals for some reason.

The six ladies going to the JGPF will attempt triple Axels, so Mao may be in danger if things don’t go well.

The BS Fuji broadcast will have commentary and possibly commercials shown during warmup and KnC moments
Other than that, I can't be sure since I didn't watch their coverage

TV aired events will sometimes include fancy graphics, better camera angles / closeup shots and interviews
BS Fuji was scheduled to broadcast "live" during Women's FS Groups 3 & 4
However, they could've made the choice to air a few highlights from the Men's FS before going live with the Women's event
But again, other than commentary I can't be certain

Thanks! It might be interesting to watch besides your excellent vids...and good practice for Japan nats.

I have to say its an interesting situation...placing Jrs into Seniors for nats. Obviously, a Mao cant skate at the Olys so a Mao cant upset the apple cart....so it comes down to "should the BEST skater win nats, no matter what age? I have no answer.

Karin 5th! My wish came true 😁 hope to see her at the jgp next season
Sad for Rena...I hope next season things will go better for her.
Mao...it's probably too soon for her to be attempting ultra-c jumps. It's not like she needs them to win. And even if she does, she's already won everything there is to win on the junior level several times. It would be better to prioritize her health.

Not here to diss anyone but this comp is way more interesting than the series of quals for US Nats. So many gifted skaters doing senior level skates, where as in the US, we have so many senior skaters skating at the level of juniors or less....I am thankful to have been able to watch this.

I think she wants to end her junior cycle with just gold lol she's is very ambitious

Yes. I love watching Japanese Nationals. I love how the top Novice skaters get to compete at the Junior level and then the top Juniors get to try at the Senior level. Also, the judging is on point for the most part

First time I saw her, I said she had "gunfighter eyes" She hates to loose or do badly and loves to win. My wife is a bit like that in dog sports. I dont have a competitive bone in my body. I guess opposites do attract.

Did you look at her face at the kiss and cry? She was very upset and she didn't even place in second...

Yes. Even though she won on the strength of her short, she was upset...the quad and the 3A left her...much as the 3A left Jason at Finlanda...
Skating is a cruel sport for some. :frown: Sometimes we know who is injured and sometimes they keep it to themselves....
