I don't get it. To my logic, that's exactly why there are two separate score segments too different those things.Wow, all 3 novice girls made it to the FS~ well done!
Just checked the protocols for Kaoruko, carrots as expected..... and what the hell is 6.45 for her skating skills?!?She may not fully rotate her jumps but what's that gotta do with lowering her skating skills score? Ah I hate it so much how the judges correlate TES & PCS like this, when can we have the separate panels

Even if he doesn't like "performing" much, I hope this will be a wake up call for him to improve his skating skills, spins and steps. I believe he didn't even get level 1 on his step sequence just nowHe still could've had a chance to advance to the free if his steps and spins had gotten better scores...
I've been watching this boy skate since Novice and have come to realize that his...stiff, awkward skating and lack of performance ability is not likely due to laziness or a lack of desire to improve but perhaps an inherent absence of awareness and understanding of what he needs to do...in particular, how to show emotion...you get what I'm saying?
His actions and (non)reaction in the KnC regardless of his performance and score is also quite telling
It's not my place to label kids that I don't personally know but as a parent of a child "on the spectrum" I'll just say that I'm open to recognizing traits of the disorder when exhibited by others

Are Haruhisa and Aoi moving to Juniors next season? If so, please please keep these SPs - they are UNIQUE and WONDERFUL it'll be such a shame to be competed just once

Ooh I see what you mean. Thank you for explaining his background - at first I thought he was just extremely shy and not a natural performer, but it makes more sense now. (My partner and my best friend are on the spectrum... so am I to a certain degree)
Looks like jumps might be his "fixation" - hence he becomes so good at it while ignoring other elements. But if he enjoys what he's doing, then keep doing it Yuki
In any case I hope he gets all the support he needs on and off the ice to be the best version of himself, whatever that is

Just my worthless, useless opinion but I would've had Ikura under Yo
For me, Yo's performance today was way more heartfelt, compelling and engaging and should've received the higher PR score
And I really don't feel there should be that much difference between their CO and SK scores either
Like others, I'm also annoyed about Kaoruko's scores
Why are the TPs and judges evaluating her this season like they did in her first year in Juniors
She's always had some issues with rotation but it's not like her skating skills or even jumps have suddenly regressed
I don't get it...I feel bad for her

If possible, going to try to upload full warmup groups

Well, it seems like Mao is hungry and eager to show something. I was curious to see how she would do, after her injury. She is the class of the field.
Seems like Mei and Sumika showed up. I have a feeling these two will join Mao at Junior Worlds. They just have to keep the same energy they showed here for the free skate segment. Last season, Ikura was passed over by Ami for this spot despite Ikura finishing on the podium. Love Ikura so much!! Great skating skills and well deserved on the level 4’s. Does she even want to go to Junior Worlds? So talented with her doing dueling disciplines.
Mayuko is my fave. I was so upset to see her struggle with the combo. They really held her score up though. I think she just has to now aim for a top 6 finish here. The question is whether or not she, Sumika, Mei will go for 3A’s or not.
with Karin and Kei. I need these two to hold it together for the free skates. I really want these two in the JGP circuit next season. Karin I expect will be picked as the top Novice. So, I have to wish Kei all the luck tmrw.

I just read somewhere that Rio Nakata has stress fractures in his foot..

Rio's left foot started hurting after the junior training camp in July. An MRI taken a week before the JGP revealed that he had a fracture—specifically, three stress fractures in the metatarsal area. After the Junior Grand Prix, he took a full week off from skating, and when he returned, he only skated on his right foot. About three weeks ago, he began practicing jumps again. He’s still not fully recovered, and the pain hasn't subsided, but he seems to be avoiding painkillers. The pain is worst when doing 4T jumps, but he plans to include both 4T and 4S jumps in his free skate tomorrow. He’s also aiming to land four quadruple jumps at the All Japan Championships in December. His coach suggested swapping the 4T for a 4Lo and 4S to reduce the strain on his foot, but Rio feels that the 4T is the jump he’s most comfortable with at this point.
His tone made it clear that he has determined to push through any challenges and finish the remaining three competitions before taking a breather
