There's a reason why Shunya has gotten a lot of show opportunities recently, he's such a gorgeous skater with wonderful posture, skating skills, and quality of movement. He may not have a 3A but he gets a lot of GOE points for his quality. It's such a shame about the errors that crept in towards the second half, which will keep him from qualifying for the free :(

Love the way Matsuoka-kun uses of his entire body during his performance
Mature skating~

It wouldn't be Japanese Nationals without Feeling Good and someone in a pleather suit! Ibuki did well to recover after the opening fall, but he's getting the "please work on your spins" comment from me.

C'mon Hayato bb!
Prove to everyone you should've had a JGP assignment this season!

oh no, a rough skate for Keisuke with the double on the combo and the single axel :(. His step sequence was very enjoyable,
He has nice posture while skating and I liked his lovely arm and hand positions.

Hayato skates beyond his 14 years, he looks a lot older than that on the ice. This was definitely not his strongest skate but he has a lot of potential. Hopefully he enjoyed this experience and will use it to have a great junior season next year.

yayyyyy deserved score!

A deserved standing ovation! Takeru is as elegant on the ice as always, I love both of his program choices this season. I'm glad to see the jumps getting more consistent for him, they have such quality when landed cleanly, and he also has gorgeous spins. This audience really knows quality skating, it is a bit funny that the 3A was far and away his best jump.

my favourite part of JP Nats, without fail, is the crowd's audible "ooohhh" and gasps at good scores. It's so adorable and shows just how knowledgeable the crowd is on what constitutes a good score for an individual skater.
