I hope Megan Woodley has a better free skate. I loved her last year and she had some good international marks. But she looked slow and tentative today. Was she injured? Fingers crossed she finds her groove tomorrow

Christina Podgornei / Thierry Caron - 39.16
Latin-esque medley including Maria Maria and Smooth by Santana
They look well-matched for a new team. The lift was a problem, but the twizzles were a real highlight.
Summer Homick / Nicholas Buelow - 51.51
Larger than Life (Remix?), Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)
That's a daring dress. Summer is still gorgeous, though. Bit rusty this early in the season, but they'll have another month or so to clean this up.
Emilie Proulx / Corentin Cinçon-Debout - 42.45
Step by Step (Remix)
So cute to have Aurea and her brother compete against each other now. Very baby, these two, but Emilie really draws the eye. Novice Silver medalist at Skate Canada Challenge (i.e. Canadian Novice vice-champions)
Olympia Kalaganis / Émile Deveau - 46.58
Get ready for this, The Power, Space Jam
This just kind of was? Is this too mean? Good lift, but it didn't really grab my attention. Probably would have preferred a bit of a more cohesive musical choice. Definitely not alone in that, though, music cutters are single-handedly kept in business by overeager ice dance choreographers.

They won bronze last year at Junior Nationals and the other two teams on the podium have aged out... So they are favourites
They are the first couple that I didn't watch the scores, but just enjoyed the skating. I am a bit worried by their relative sizes; I hope he grows and she doesn't!

Techinically, Cinçon-Debout / Celestino are not as advanced as previous team but the program makes more sens.
