He really really blew it!! Had he placed at least silver, he would have qualified for GPF and likely would have had the 3rd highest SB out of the Japanese men. Then he could have passed Miura in WS by placing no lower than 4th at GPF, knocking Miura out of the selection pool entirely! I can’t believe he couldn’t take this golden opportunity! He didn’t even have to skate all that well!!!
