I've seen a few people on X now wondering why anyone thinks this is the costume she will be competing in. To me it just wouldn't make sense to practice in a skirt that's shorter than the one she wears at competition...

Probably because they're haters who can't imagine them making a sensible decision about their costume choices?

Damn he's tall. Memola. Boy, I tell ya - whoever this guy is calling the action at practice is catching every little mistake all the guys are making on their jumps. He ought to be a tech caller.

That would be Jackie Wong. He's never skated competitively, but he's skated. However, he sees all!

I don't remember ever seeing a men's practice either in person or on TV where the crowd stood up and clapped when it was finished. Jason - your are AWESOME. Maybe you don't have the firepower of some of the other skaters but you definitely bring the enjoyment factor and why I fell in love with figure skating in the first place!

They did stand. He skated clean and economically. He's using his energy and stamina wisely. But he skated for the spectators. The whole short!

I watch the women practice. They all were there and wonderful.
Most of the women skated with ease and flow. They let the movement show.
To me a few skated stiff but still great.

It will be interesting to see how plays out.

Yes some women fell but expected.
Why , get nerves out to test how others doing.

They do keep an eye out for other skaters in practice.
If one does it another skater does it to show. Yes the skater can.

Are you there? If so have so much fun!

Not the crowd, but I stand and cheer all my Queens practices. In the rink, in my living room, doesn’t matter.

There used to be a little competition within the competition to "win the practice." The skaters did their best to put on a show and the crowd did its part with hearty cheers.

Spotted them very briefly at NHK. They really are super fans!!!

Back to ID ... I was in and out watching it live due to actually -- gasp! -- having to do real life obligations, and then I was trying to rewatch it on Peacock right when they pulled it off the air. But thanks to @dorispulaski tipping us off that it is on youtube, I finished seeing it there.

Dayum, Maddie and Evan have already improved that FD immensely imo. And having Jean-Luc detail the intricacies of what they are doing really added to my enjoyment of both the artistry and the technicality. Most impressive. Now, get that darn skirt out of the way!!

ID this season is just so exciting! I'll always root for Maddie and Evan, Piper and Paul, Emilea and Vadym, and Caroline and Michael -- plus LaLa, the French teams, and on and on.

Short of the dance On Ice Perspectives.. simple practice gear but the skirt is there. Today’s dress was more ornate, but all black. I really like today’s version but if it is replacing the first one it should have red embellishments

Weirdly, "figure skating" hasn't worked consistently well for me. It will pull some things but not always, sadly. I get more hits with just "skating" but not always all the tiles for the same event. It's crazy. I manually go under All Sports and scroll to make sure I am getting all the disciplines/tiles for each event. And it beats me why you can't get hits for event titles like "Skate America," or last week for "NHK." Again, crazy/ridiculous. I loathe Peacock, but it's all I've got.

Agreed. This happens to me too. Whomever designed that sight did a mediocre job imo. To make sure that I don't miss something, I also click on the Olympic sports feature as well!

I think either these are more elaborate practice costumes indeed or the new costumes are not ready yet and these are temporary costumes. I may bo wrong, of course.

Just watched fragments women - Katia died on ice, but overall she looked fit and jumps were rather rotated - but I'm mostly UR blind... I love Lara's final pose. Starr is planning transition to pairs and it's a good move (still hoping Katia follows next quad).

Ice Dance: blue costumes for Frenchies, yay. The other Frenchies: Theo has nice training shirt. Bock: I do hope it's her new costume, it's just so much better than the other.

I'd love for him and Mark H to commentate together at an event

Always happy to see them! During one of the Zamboni breaks, I went over to say "Hello" to them. I told them that we were excited to see them in the audience for most of the GPS this season. My husband even took screenshots of them over the last few weekends.

Seven Sisters, where is your "real" seat? Ours are in Section 6, Row 4. During the practice sessions, however, I 'm sitting with a friend in the section closest to the skaters' entrance (just under NBC's broadcast booth).

I complimented Maddie on her practice costume! saying something like, "Even your practice costumes are beautiful." So I guess we will find out if this is indeed her new costume for the actual competition.

I used,to rely on getting any of the tiles I couldn't find using the You May Also Like feature, where other skating events would show up. Now I get 3 basketball games, 2 Premier league soccer games 1 vile movie and 2 Wrestling events. This makes me very angry.

Thankyou thankyou I'm watching men now. This is a treat. Great production and interesting comments! Too late for me to watch the competition so I'll watch some afternoon(for me) practice skating and watch replays tomorrow
