2025 Skate America Women's Short Program

Lara was smart to go for the 3T+3T it is very clearly fully rotated and avoided the UR and q calls the other skaters got ( and deserved). She also has such amazing choreo and I'm glad it was rewarded.

Chaeyeon had grown so much artistically this season. Love this program for her even if the music is so depressing. She expresses it well which isn't something she's done in the past.

This was a good event. The men and pairs events today were tough so it was nice to have a repreive from the falls.

I like Alysa but I am so happy for Rinka. Hope she keeps it together in the free and goes clean like a whistle with two great 3As.

She looks very confident and has been training a lot, but I don’t know if she can handle the pressure of being in first after the short. I think this is the first time that’s happened to her?

Nastya has been skating really well this season, and she continues that with another clean short here! I really don't love this program from Anastasiia, it's very "Egyptian Arms but make it Indian", which is still not my favourite, but she does a good job performing it. I would like to see some transitions into her 3Lz next time, she had such a long setup for that element that was really distracting for me.

Except for a second I thought that I was watching escape from the 90s with that more traditional backwards glide into the Lutz it's been a long since I seen that! And it brought back good memories

Chaeyeon has continued to look better at every event as she recovers from her injury, she's come so far since Nepela where she scored like 80 points in the FS. While her jumps aren't quite as consistent as they were in the past, I find that her performance and musical sensitivity has improved by leaps and bounds, she's really becoming quite the artist.

But the brown dress... hmm...
