2025 Skate to Milano (Olympic Qualifier) | Sep 19-21

At least you'll see RD. Will you be so kind and cheer for my kiddos? Their best result places them around 8-10th place, but I still have some faint hope.

who are your kids ?

Dovhal/Kulesza - I want Poland in team event ;)
The RD is also at a good time for me.

A good way to bring attention (and cheering) to your kids is to post about them in the RD thread shortly before the event begins (as close as possible to the start time, given your time difference).

Most people who come watch (and read/post) will read all the new posts just prior to the event. They will then have it fresh in their minds that the Polish team, though a long shot, have an opportunity to not only qualify themselves, but to get Poland into the team event. Everybody loves an underdog! And drama!

I was debating taking a morning shift (not this vampire's natural habit ) on Friday for so long that someone else took it in the end 😆 so there's one conflict gone, lol. I definitely won't be able to watch all the events live but I'm hoping to catch Dance and maybe the Men's SP.

I will try to watch all starting at 12:15 am Friday; usually wake up anywhere between 12 to 2 am anyway but it’s not guaranteed I can stay awake, will likely doze off. As usual I am called away often for chores that can’t wait but it’s a pleasure to take a ‘skating break’ and I can usually catch up with what I missed. Skating has become a welcome respite especially now in these times; Olympics is a happy added bonus!

Hmm. Is anyone else fed up with Mark constantly saying the word 'showcase'? I know I am. Might have to subscribe to Discovery Plus again - at least that way you can turn off the commentary.

There are a lot of things that I am fed up with when it comes to Mark. But, he's a nice guy and really cares about his work. So, I give him some slack.

But, I would love to be able to watch in the company of the British Eurosport guys again. I am still bitter that you guys living on the continent can get the British Eurosport commentary, but those of us back home in the British Isles can't any more.

I know it doesn't affect figure skating over here any more, but I am dreading when Warner Brothers Discovery splits next year, because it sounds like Eurosport is staying with Discovery (and streaming on Discovery+), but TNT Sports (née BT Sport) is moving over to Warner Brothers (and streaming on HBO Max).

With British Eurosport having closed down at the start of the year and all of their content having moved to TNT Sports, how on Earth are things going to work if the two networks are under different ownership?! Will TNT Sports continue to show content inherited from Eurosport, or will we see the Eurosport content disappear over time?

I know TNT Sports is only a relatively recent acquisition, but in that short time it has become so deeply intergrated with Eurosport. So, why not keep them together?! It would make things a lot simpler.

Sorry for going off on a tangent, but it is actually relevant as the split will affect the coverage of future Olympics in the British Isles.

Dovhal/Kulesza - I want Poland in team event ;)
What Poland needs to ensure a place in the team event is world ranking points. :) You only need to have qualified skaters in 3/4 disciplines, which you have already done. The teams which will be included in the team event are the top ten ranked teams who have qualified skaters in at least 3 out of 4 disciplines. At the end of last season, Poland was 9th on that list - but you could get knocked off if countries like China, Germany and Switzerland are able to qualify in a third discipline.
