ANNOUNCEMENT OF SUMMER SIZZLER 2025 - WHEN TO WATCH

Streaming tomorrow, but will replay be available? I asked U.S. Figure Skating but have not heard back yet.

I downloaded the whole stream (with all the music) onto my computer. I haven't had time to clip out specific programs yet. I will definitely clip the ones that I personally want to rewatch. If anyone definitely wants to rewatch certain skaters, let me know in the next two weeks or so. I'd rather not keep this entire stream indefinitely.

USFS has put up individual programs on YouTube, but they're mostly dubbed over for music copyright, which is frustrating, even though I understand why. If anything, it reminds me how important music is (and should be) to a figure skating program and its choreography. In a way, I'd rather have them not up at all than with the "wrong" music. However, Jordan's (OIP) camerawork is still worth looking at.

I was thinking "or just put them up with no music" when I realized that is an option for the viewer; just hit the mute button. Like you, I strongly prefer the intended music, but may also prefer no music to something random.

It's definitely different watching programs without music, but something we will be growing accustomed to.

I watched the whole video while it was up, even rewinding to re-watch when I realized I'd fallen asleep and missed several skaters. Unfortunately on the replay I saw that new style of Youtube ads, where the screen is split between the video and the ad, with the ad audio substituted. Is it worse than being interrupted by an ad, but not missing any of the program? I'm not sure.

Is there a way to transfer the whole stream to me?

And I’d love to see my fiancé!

Of the programs that I'd never seen before, the ones that stood out to me the most were Caroline Green & Michael Parson's with the creative music video intro and Andrew Torgashev's FS. I also liked Christina Correira & Anthony Ponomarenko's RD.

Although the decades theme for RDs has not been all bad, in my opinion, I grew tired of how fast paced and busy most of them were (even though they were often performed very well). Christina & Anthony's new RD had a different general character and was not as fast and busy. So it was a nice change. Of course, if they all turn out this way then it will no longer stand out. So we'll see.

Torgashev's FS was a definite highlight! It was filled with creative choreography and reminded me of his last SP, which I loved.

I thought the unexpected music video with Michael Parsons singing and cameos by many skaters was a really creative way to add to their performance, and I might like to see more of that sort of thing at ice shows. I could not tell if Michael was singing or lip syncing, but either way, he did a good job!
