Watching the stream from my hotel and I have to say, I'm super impressed by Yurina! She has lovely polish. I know I've seen her name before, but I can't recall watching her skate, so that was a nice surprise.

She placed 6th at 2022 Jr National and competed 2023 challenge Cup in Junior category. AFAIK it was her only international competition.

She's one of very few female skaters I would call one of my favorites (I stan more of the guys)
She's always been a strong PCS skater but has struggled with confidence in her jumps for the last few seasons
But recently she seems to be on the right track, jumping with more confidence and intention

I'm happy you're able to watch and enjoy this competition and were impressed by Yurina's skating

I've been following Chikako loosely since I first saw her at 2023 Nationals. She didn't make the free skate at that event, but I was struck by the quality of her skating and it's been so lovely to see her having a good run of things this preseason! I'm not optimistic about her ever being given international assignments when more established skaters aren't getting them, but man, everything about her skating is so lovely. I'm glad she stuck it out <3
