Looking at the selection criteria from USFS, Shin/Nagy would have to skate lights out every competition from here on out to be in consideration. Their performance data for the USFS calculations will have them behind most other eligible teams.

I was jesting. Mostly. My point is that everyone is on the Ellie and Danny train, and they underperform pretty consistently. They are one of those teams that coulda/shoulda slammed the door over the past year or so, and they haven't done it. I sense they're USFSA darlings (politically) - and that's pure perception on my part - and they've done very little to earn it.

It's more a matter of "when they were good, they were very, very good." So the promise is there, and when they deliver, it's great. But right now, they are less than great. The GP season will be very informative for USFS and the rest of us, including Ellie and Danny. I hope that they are great, but it's up to them.
