My gosh, all the luck to Khabibulina/Knyazhuk and Domozhirova/Vegera. They had so much troubles last season.

Natalia Khabibullina: "I suffered from back pain for a very long time, and we couldn't find a definitive diagnosis. I underwent treatment in Munich."

Anna Lyashenko has switched to pair skating and also changed her coaching team - the figure skater will train under Eteri Tutberidze and Stanislav Morozov.

Anna's partner will be Petr Alekseenko.

Added from me:
Anna was 10th at last Russian nationals. Petr was 9th at last junior nationals in pair with Anastasia Vysotskaya.

This is a huge shock to me, wow. She does have the height and build for pairs, but she didn't necessarily give me pairs girl vibes like some other singles skaters who later switched to pairs. Good luck to her and Petr (who is now on partner no. 6 in as many years 😅).

Kasumova and Morozov married:

Stanislav Morozov about Anna Lyashenko:

"We have already learned half of the elements in three weeks. In my opinion, [Anna] is a promising athlete. She has almost mastered lifts, is already performing double throws, and we have choreographed two programs in three weeks. Anya adapted quickly, and we communicate well. They will most likely not be allowed to take part in test skates but we will enter them in senior competitions".

The media also contacted Anna:

A few years ago, I tried pair skating and really enjoyed it! But things didn't work out back then. This May, fate gave me another chance, and I thought, "Why not?" That is how I ended up in Stanislav Alexandrovich Morozov's group.

In single skating, I had a bright, unforgettable journey filled with diverse impressions and emotions, and I have already been awarded the title of Master of Sports of Russia. "Life is many paths, and each person has their own." That is our experience and value.

Very true, and sounds like she genuinely enjoyed pairs and maybe even planned to move to pairs earlier on. Let's see how it pans out for the new senior pair!

Two-time Olympic champion (1992, 1998) in pairs skating Artur Dmitriev died at the age of 59. The cause of death is heart attack.

:(:(:(

Russian pairs are going to be back in international competition this quad and I'm so excited. It will take them a couple of years to earn back all the alloted spots (whatever that may be under the new rule), but I don't care. Pair skating has been dismal except for the Russian skaters skating for Germany and Georgia.
