2026-27 Russian Pairs Figure Skating

Russian pairs are going to be back in international competition this quad and I'm so excited. It will take them a couple of years to earn back all the alloted spots (whatever that may be under the new rule), but I don't care. Pair skating has been dismal except for the Russian skaters skating for Germany and Georgia.
Me too .. but in pairs .. I will give them 2 years max to gain the 3 spots ... If B/K can participate ( or the 3rd pair will be the same) .. they will be top 3 at euros/ worlds ( worst case top 6) ... so at least 2 spots next year .. at least one spot in GP in next year ... and if you count with juniors, the challengers, universiades and some invitation ( in pairs will be more easy) .. probably at least will have 2 teams in GP next year
If I were russia federation .. I would send C/I to participate in juniors and in seniors this year like the georgian pair .... to win everything in juniors

P.S: I don't think Gallimov can pass the neutral status

Anastasia Mishina got married.

She doesn't end sport career.

Russian juniors have received 4 quotas (one per discipline) for the first stage of the Junior Grand Prix in China.

The competitions will take place from August 20 to 22.

we shall see only 1 boy, 1 girl, 1 dance team, but possibly 2 pairs according to rules for JGP entries. A country that did not participate at the previous junior worlds only gets one quota per category at two JGP stages, except pairs, where such country gets one entry at three JGP stages.

The names will be decided according to the performance at junior test skates.

well... she doesn't ... but if she can't pass the neutral status ... what will happen G/M? Because of Galimov she will not pass. . they will wait more years until they can pass the neutral pass ... or she will try to get a new partner ?
Because we know that in the internal competitions russia will push for the ones competing internationally ( we say that with adelia)

She says there are four years in the next olympic cycle. and even ISU made allusions that the rules may be loosened gradually, and who knows, maybe the next season there will ne no more neutral status. Of course that is just the most optimistic scenario but we shall see.

Why would she change partners? The Bukins are also in the same boat where they also might get rejected again for AIN status but I doubt the Russian federation isn't going to try to put them as the #1 option again. The Olympics is still 4 years away and of course russian skaters are hoping that but then, the restrictions will be gone or looser than this past Olympics. I'm sure they would want to start competing in international competitions again but it's not the end if they don't get AIN status this season. Their main goal is the Olympics.

Galliamov did nothing independently of Mishina that could be considered a violation of Communication 2804.

What did he post and when?

He posted silly things about the IOC, etc. but they weren't political.
Before the olympics.. in the last for 4 years ... just check the internet ... he was very political... there is a reason that the decision of the RFed putting them in first was questioned .. because it was clear that Galimov wouldn't make the cut ( The bukins the decisions wasn't clear why .. but nobody was surprise about them)... Many people argued that they should have gone as 2nd pair so that Russia would secure a spot in the pairs event...
