I like the look of Varvara. Shame about the fall on the combo. I look forward to seeing how she develops as she gains more experience of international competition. It can't have been easy following Sofiia in her first event.

Mark telling the story of how Varvara STAHOVICH (BLR) got into skating after medical advice reminded me that it was the same for my baby girl, Stefania Yakovleva (CYP). And look at her now!

Another Édith Piaf programme. (And another that finished with "Milord").

I love her dress.

Good skate.

She looks so tiny sitting between her coaches!

She goes into 7th position.

Has something happened with Ted's microphone? He was sounding very croaky now after Izabella KIRILLOVA (ISR)'s programme.

I hope he isn't taking the cold. With the amount of travelling he has to do over the next few months, being sick is the last thing you need.

Actually, he is sounding more like himself now. It must have been a temporary issue that was sorted out after a few minutes.

I vote we ban anything that's an "Epic Version" or "Techno Remix" along with all of 2WEI... but then the junior men would have nothing to skate to, so...

I don't mind some of it (spent too many years collecting fanvids for various shows and films as well as skating) but most of it it very ponderous. Which is NOT something a skater wants to make us think.

Nobody is going to beat Karen Chen's Butterfly Lovers Concerto dress, it was just the right mix of modern and traditional...

Australia is developing a really strong women's program, they've got Hana Bath who is obviously incredible, an up-and-coming novice skater named Mia Zheng who is amazing and just scored 120 points in her FS at the Asian Open, and plus Haruna Murakami is now skating for Australia as well. The other junior women at this event also have a lot of potential; Kalyn is working with an incredible coaching team and has a lot of nice qualities and I enjoyed Isabella Wang a lot as well
