Leyla recently landed a clean 3Lz+3T in competition, but decided to play it safe here, which was probably smart. Great, clean skate. Excited to see her develop over the next Olympic cycle (she turns Senior eligible in the next Olympic season).

Only a small minority of the skaters here will ever make the Olympics. I'm not sure that the endless talk about the Olympics, which makes them seem like the be all and end all of a career, is particularly helpful.

I have heard a story about a skater who had bought into the Olympic propaganda so much that they were totally distraught when they didn't get through the Olympic Qualifying Event. To the extent that they had decided to retire, despite the fact that they had actually got good scores there. And nobody could get through to them that it wasn't the end of the world.

Thankfully, I think they were eventually talked around.

Phattaratida just hasn't been the same since she left Tammy Gambil. Ted's talking about adjustment, but she left Colorado a while ago.

This started way before she left Tammy.

I don't think the one-sleeve look works for this costume.... the music is a type I can't be having with, but she clearly likes it.

I really enjoyed that.
