2026 Junior World Championships | Women's Short Program

When checking where Kira BARANOVSKA (LAT) slotted in, I noticed that both of my kids that have already skated are not that far behind her. Zhasmin SHLAGA (KGZ) is currently in 18th position, while Vasilisa BOGOMOLOVA (CYP) is currently in 21st position.

So, neither of them will qualify.

But, I still have one more kid coming up in the next group. Well, I've started making out her Fan Fest, but haven't finished it yet. So, I suppose you could say the papers are in.

So, my fingers are crossed for Alica LENGYELOVA (SVK)

I actually agree with Ted that this 1. was a lovely, enjoyable program and 2. would have been even better had the skater shown us that she was enjoying it as much as we did

I loved the music that Polina DZSUMANYIJAZOVA (HUN) was skating to. Doris Day, followed by Louis Prima. We don't get enough music like that.

And the skating was good too!

She goes into 5th position.

TSAI Yu-Feng (TPE) wearing a beautiful black dress.

Skating to "Love In The Dark" by Adele.

Adele is always big music, but Yu-Feng pulled it off!

I loved that.

She looks so young sitting waiting for her scores.

She goes into 19th position.

Her face just dropped when the scores were announced.

But, she gave us a big smile and waved just before the camera left. 😄

is Anna taking us to Arrakis?

She did.

Anna GERKE (DEU) wearing the sort of brown costume that you would expect for a "Dune" programme.

Ah, so she's coached by Martina with an "E". (Doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?)

She goes into 6th position.

Great reaction when the Q appeared.

Anna is certainly pumped after that program. Hope she gets the marks she wants. I think I'm going to have to watch Dune (one or both of them) one of these days. After seeing how it has inspired so many skating programs, I'm getting curious. Having seen trailers, I've never felt it was something I needed to see but .... :scratch2:
