ELLIE AND DANNY ARE HAVING THE OLYMPICS OF THEIR LIVES!!!!!! They were incredible in the TE, and were near-perfect here as well! They have such a gorgeous program with so many complex transitions, and some of the best lifts in the field. They seemed to be having so much fun out there!

Ellie does have quite a bit of taping on her arm, and it's not where one would put it for shoulder support for a dislocation. It could be for support with the lift, or she could have hurt something during practice and wants the extra protection.

Kam hand down on throw 3loop. Still, they are skating very well. Amazing lift! I expect they will be very close to Emily and Spencer. What a fabulous pairs event so far!

because they look great on women and are probably comfortable to skate in :)
One of the first things I was exposed to in this sport!

Thomas Fashions the Lead : Skater Stays in First, Body Suit and All; Chin Makes a Gain
By RANDY HARVEY

TACOMA, Wash. — The news Friday at the U.S. figure skating championships was that Debi Thomas wore a black-tights body suit in the women’s short program instead of the small, frilly dresses preferred by the other competitors.

Someone finally put the figure in figure skating.

Actually, Thomas wasn’t the first skater to be so bold. Another woman, Jill Frost, wore a body suit in competition three years ago. But Thomas, the 1986 world champion, is the first contender to dress down in front of the judges.

“You never know what they’re going to say,” she said.

As it turned out, Thomas, the defending champion from San Jose, was dressed for success.

All but one of the nine judges at the Tacoma Dome scored Thomas first in the short program as she maintained her lead entering this afternoon’s long program, the third and final phase of the competition...https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1987-02-07-sp-1562-story.html

I feel the Italian couple was underscored, they had a more dynamic performance, it shouldn't have been scored behind Sui /Han for certain

American personal best score seems to be just under 73. But they surpass it? They had about three points lower technical scores in the Canadians at the end of their skate. I'm going to guess they get about one and a half more in pcs..?

Listening to a NBC commentators while USA team is skating is so painful.Behave like this skate was something amazing with hand down throw and disaster on the spin 🤣
