What kind of interview?? And why they jump on skaters immediately after skate? It is so disprespectful and psychologically wrong. No wonder there have been skaters who always said no to interviews immediately after skate.
They aired the interview after the end of the event, so I don't think they did it immediately after his skate (he certainly didn't look like he had just finished his skate). He interviewed like a socially awkward teenage boy who didn't know how to answer questions. I think some PR coaching is needed for the future!

Didn't othet skaters complain about not being able to beat ilia and his tech.
At same tokrn complain about Jason pcs too high without tech

Now Yuma suddenly gets the 108
Overlook his
Suddenly spots ilia pad
After 3 years of completing that ilia tech cant be beat.

Canada brings up dirty but forget to mention dick pound when winning.

All of sudden Stephen who hasn't scored above 90 outside his national gets a 92
All those cs. Beat are call ur and gets his 80s

Even ilia when this forum complain overlook jumps on him
At olympic notices

Not shouldn't but overlook Yuma and Stephen

More of passionate dislike for ilia.
Yuma nice to watch.
Unlike during season his beautiful artistry didn't translate.

Stephen while skating clean is rigid and robotic.

Ilia is ilia despite the urs he still manages a score that could win.
Yuma skated cleaner. Not better.

hi, welcome to the party :laugh4:
🙏 welcome.
I never join because of a skater no matter how well they skate.
I join because I am moved by what stated agree, disagree, like, dislike and passionate enough to state something about it.
I hope people understand the difference of opinion and allow it even thought dont like

I was so focused on the Canada vs France situation and being nervous over Kagiyama that I didn’t even realize that Georgia was in any sort of danger. That made it by the skin of their teeth! They went from being a (co)favorite for bronze to barely making the free. And just like that, Canada is suddenly fighting for bronze! What a swing that was! Gogolev did the thing!

Hello, everyone. I have really enjoyed reading your comments for the past couple of years although it took a while to figure out cacti and other forum references. But seeing Yuma's incredible skate prompted me to register finally. I was smiling and laughing and jumping around and clapped wildly and just wanted to join with all of you!

Welcome to Goldenskate. post long and post often!

But that was a great skate from Yuma. Words cannot express how much I love that SP.❤️ (and I almost never listen to music because of skating, but that version of I Wish in now on repeat. Thanks to Yuma)

I have not heard that interview ( would be happy to hear!) but I agree that some PR coaching is needed. He seems to be very introvert and, exactly because of this, I am so happy to see that he finally skates with a real emotions and feelings.

His skating surprisingly touched and impressed me when I watched Canadian nationals. There is something in him.

Nice try, but no dice. Yuma already scored 108.77 for this program at the Grand Prix Final. Same great skate here.
Ilia messed up didnt he.
Yuma overcored then . As posters attested to.
Didnt notice his
Ilia deserved his come in uppenace.
Or something to that affect

Wait till olympic they tell Ilia a thing or two about artistry and that affect.
How about Nathan and his overscored pcs vs hanyu.

The lists and the posts goes on
It annoying.
It like not appreciated only your skater can be others cannot.
It's disrespectful to skaters others posters to all.
This is to value the posters and skaters not run down or feel bad about post

To accept eve. If dont like or disagree

Yes thank you for correcting me on the 108.
I think Yuma beat Ilia another time with a 106bvs his 100 or something

For record Yuma should have beat ilia in this olympic team short.
Ilia skated short or too conservative

I'm more competent to comment on the finer points of ballroom dancing than ice skating, so didn't feel up to snuff in joining this forum when most of you seem to have a good grasp of the technicalities. I joined today out of pure joy, but, do have lots of opinions. Someone yesterday was having an argument about costumes and I thought about chiming in on that one, too.

What? He's an athlete, interviews straight after performance are quite common and normal in every sport.
;-) it was my personal take about interviews in general.
What I meant to ask was what kind of interview it was, what questions, his answers and etc

I'm very confused at why some people are acting like Ilia fell, like Nathan did in 2018. Ilia just wasn't as clean as usual.
Some people are always on the ready to be overly critical of Ilia. I can only imagine that there is an immense pressure on him right now. And yes, other skaters have immense pressure on them too, but that does not negate that there is a lot on Ilia. It's his first Olympics, he's being heralded as a lock AND he's being pushed to ensure the US wins the Team event. Yes, the same pressure is on Madison & Evan but this isn't their first games.

Very happy for Canada though, that was lovely.

That too. Welcome.

Ilia messed up didnt he.

He's had better days, but he also had a similar problem with his SP at the Grand Prix final. Scores here:

Yuma overcored then .

Nope. Same score of 108 that he got at the Grand Prix final. Nothing new for him. Again, scores here:

Ilia deserved his come in uppenace.
Many guys can screw up a short program and make up for it in the Free Skate. It's common. Nothing more, nothing less.

You watch skating without listening to the music? I couldn't do that no matter how annoying the commentary can be. Is it because you are concentrating on the technical skating?
