Hero of the Event: Stephen Gogolev. Canadians everywhere should be sending him flowers, Dessert-of-the-Month, etc.

Kick in the Pants Award: Ilia. Kind of ragged today. That individual gold medal is not guaranteed. Take care.
Bummer Award: France. So close, so far. Will always wonder if putting Adam in the SP would have let them make the cut.

Yes. Jin skated better and if Cha got fair PCS score, that is what should have happened. France got robbed.

France could have affected USA in ice dance standings and Japan would have had a stronger opportunity to win gold.

98 is not low, but he has visible errors on 2 jumps. How can that be over 100?

Feeling smug about this prior comment, which I know rubbed some people wrong but is looking pretty spot on today.

I think the judges will be aching to give Yuma Olympic Gold. Ilia has developed a unique and respectable kind of artistry, but Yuma is still way above him in that regard. The panel can't do much if Ilia is technically on point, but if he gives them room they will take advantage of it.
