Yes, there was controversy over the way she qualified to get here, getting through rather than my baby girl. But I don't hold that against her. She deserves to be on the big stage, as she just showed.

She goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

Those about to retire, I wish them all the best as they move on to whatever the future holds for them. And those who made a mistake here or didn’t have the skates they wanted—at least they made it to the Olympics, and that is a tremendous achievement!

I don’t think Amber or Ilya feel that way, and they have team golds. Maybe In time. I live in fear of post Olympic retirements. Even from those who had no realistic chance of making it. It’s 4 years by 4 years. Not year by year.

As for social media, it doesn’t add anything to the sport, I agree, but it’s the modern way, we just have to live with it I guess
