I guess I’m a glass half full person. Ilia is twice World Champion, is only 21 and will be overachieving for years yet. Amber conquered her demons, achieved success beyond what even her most devout fans would have imagined, and is an inspiration to so many people. Both have Olympic gold medals and their seasons are not even over, because they’re going to Worlds.I don’t think Amber or Ilya feel that way, and they have team golds. Maybe In time. I live in fear of post Olympic retirements. Even from those who had no realistic chance of making it. It’s 4 years by 4 years. Not year by year.
Both should be proud of themselves. Neither owes us, the fans, anything!

Good 3A afterwards, but she looks very tense.
Yeah, she really needs to relax. Easier than said, I know, but she has nothing to lose.
