I love all the "Clear the Arena" spaces on the schedule! Who remembers the all event pass on a lanyard??? Now its, "Go out in the ice storm and go to a restaurant and spend money and we want to make sure you are not a cheater staying for the next event, like that CoyoteChris person at Boston who hid in a third floor bathroom so he didnt have to go out and stand in the rain for an hour and who pretended to be a Spanish worker in a stall.Colored schedule: https://usfigureskating.org/documents/2025/12/4/2026USFSChampsMatrixDraft1_11-23-25.pdf
They've released the practice groups: https://usfigureskating.org/documents/2025/12/10/2026_U.S._Championships_Practice_Groups.pdf
I can't help but laugh at Pairs Group A.

I’ve never been to a Nationals where they cleared the arena except before the Gala for some crazy reason.I love all the "Clear the Arena" spaces on the schedule! Look at the colored schedule for this one. But you are right. In my case, it was Boston Worlds 2016. I remember as if you climbed the escalator which was turned off as high as you could go, there were empty food vendors and the condiments had to have plastic over the nozzels as there were so many rodents around. That is the floor I MIGHT have hid in a bathroom... LOL!I’ve never been to a Nationals where they cleared the arena except before the Gala for some crazy reason.
Bad luck for one dream come true for the other... happy for KenI got called up to US Nationals!!!
Long time no see everyone - this is Ken. since Camden unfortunately withdrew, I'm being called up as first alternate to compete at US Nationals next week!
This has been my endgame goal and dream since I returned to skating 2 years ago, so I'm really happy to have gotten here
A bit of retrospective on my Sectionals performances - dealing with an emergency boot change and sickness a few weeks before the competition threw off my preparations hard. Pulling off the cleanest program I've done to date in spite of that is the biggest accomplishment I could say I've ever achieved in my skating career.
My preparations haven't exactly been airtight this time either (holiday schedule at a small and cold rink) but I'm hoping to make the most of this privilege to perform on the national stage.

The tiles are up and I bookmarked them a day ago but its easier to find the dart board comps than the skating comps. You have to go to live and upcoming sports, then all the way over to the right to all sports, then scroll down for ever till you see one tile and book mark it. If you then hit "other events you might like" you will get garbage, so you back all the way out to "Sports" and start all over again. Why there isnt an icon for figure skating tells us alot about Peacock.I'm seriously concerned about Peacock streaming coverage. While I did not see tiles up, I found the 2026 U.S. Nats events listed on Peacock. The tiles on the sports home page for upcoming sports events should be appearing soon, if not today.
From what I see in the Peacock listings, I'm very worried that NBC is once again planning to hijack streaming coverage (like they did at SkAm) with terrible commentating and a bunch of disruptive ads!!! Does anyone know the best place to write or message NBC to complain in advance and request the uninterrupted streams we have been accustomed to watching?!
Yeah, I forgot about this being an oly year and nats. Be ready for anything on Peacock...commercials, skipped skaters....whatever. Is there really no NBC rabbitt ears coverage to speak of? Didnt see any on my local affilitate yet......Always in an Olympic year, the coverage gets extra but never in a good way, aside from the Olympic Ice review shows circa 2006. The best U.S. Nats coverage on Peacock was the two seasons that Peacock stream commentating was handled by Tanith and Charlie White. Also, the 2012 men's event color commentating by Johnny Weir, which is where he got his big breakthrough.
Alas, Johnny and Tara, come off looking like sellouts to poor NBC coverage. There's a Milano Winter sports section on Peacock with about 7 episodes highlighting winter sports events leading into the 2026 Winter Olympics. It's rather awful, especially the last episode with Johnny in a elf-like Santa suit cheesily reviewing the season in 'A Night Before Christmas' figure skating rendition. I couldn't watch the whole thing. This is not serious figure skating coverage. It is superficial, boring, and embarrassing. From the little I unfortunately saw, of course, only Ilia (with Terry mispronouncing 'Malinin' in one segment), Alysa, and Chock/ Bates are referenced by Johnny. In an earlier episode, at least, Amber and Isabeau are briefly featured. I only saw Ilia focused on for U.S. men in the little I saw. These episode features are interspersed with a bunch of ads and focus on other winter sports. Not informative in any way for people who actually follow these sports. Only athletes anticipated to win gold are given the time of day. How awful, when there are so many interesting figure skating athletes and storylines.
By this point, I'm sorry to say that I'm soured on Chock/ Bates. They do not have good material this year, IMO, and I'm not interested in seeing them anointed with an individual Olympic gold medal. Hubbell/ Donahue deserved that to happen much more than Chock/Bates!
I know everyone loves Alysa, but I'd rather see Amber win Olympic gold over Alysa, Kaori, and other women contenders. Of course, pairs is not part of NBC's figure skating Milano preview. Pairs deserve more coverage and respect. I'm already expecting the worst U.S. Nationals and Olympics coverage. It's probably more enjoyable to be at Nationals in-person. Is there still a pbp coverage app the in-arena audience can listen to via headphones?
Good luck and have fun at Nationals!!!I got called up to US Nationals!!!

I think you're joking, but just in case anyone is confused I should make it clear that I'm not going to US Nationals - that was the name of Ken's another site post.Good luck and have fun at Nationals!!!I
Oh, I thought you were him because it wasn't clear who was reposting Ken's message...I suppose I will have to post my well wishes on the another site thread, then!I think you're joking, but just in case anyone is confused I should make it clear that I'm not going to US Nationals - that was the name of Ken's another site post.
I also thought it was you @skatingguy! As our names here tend to be different from our real names, I just though you were this Ken....I got called up to US Nationals!!!
