2026 Rooster Cup Lakes Trophy | Apr 4-6

Awwwww. The whole of the Turkish team must be sitting with skater #3, Pelin İPEKÇİLER (TUR)!

Well, it's a big sofa. How many little girls can you fit onto it?

She goes into 2nd position.

Oh. My. Goodness!

It has taken me until a full day after the event started to notice that the on-screen graphics are showing the logo of the skater's club before their name.

The final skater in Group 1, #4 Iris RIBEIRO MARTINS (FRA), was from the host club. And she went into 2nd position.

It's just a pity that the names of the clubs are not being shown in the tables on the Entries / Results page. It is always nice to be able to see at a glance who is team-mates with who. And see who are the proper local skaters.

The songs used by the first skater in the final group, #11 Emma RAKOTOARIVELO (FRA), brought me right back to my school days:

Vanessa Carlton - "A Thousand Miles"
The Spice Girls - "Viva Forever"
S Club 7 - "Bring It All Back"

I am not sure that I would have put them together in one programme, but it was good to hear them being skated to.

She goes into 5th position.

By the way, there are just 3 skaters left to skate, because there have been 2 withdrawals.

CaroLiza_fan

And that brings to a close the Chicks competitions. Which, due to the number of withdrawals, have finished a LOT earlier than planned.

It'll be interesting to see what happens now, because the next competition is not due to start until the top of the hour. Just over 45 minutes from now.

Yay! I was able to finish watching the episode of "The Fall Guy" that I was trying to get watched before skating started yesterday, AND watch yesterday's episode of "Batman"!

We're back now with a Debs 1 double-bill. It was supposed to be 29 girls, followed by 4 boys. But we have already had FIVE girls withdraw: three from Group 1; one from Group 2; and one from Group 4.

Which means we have just 4 girls left in this opening group.

CaroLiza_fan

What a way to start a competition! "Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears!

And Louise BOSCHET (FRA) is even wearing a school uniform like Britney did in the video! Well, not her real school uniform. I don't think there are many schools that would have a uniform consisting of a white blouse with a pink sparkly crest, and a bright pink skirt!

That was an enjoyable programme.

Due to the number of withdrawals in the early groups, the resurfacing that was supposed to have started 5 minutes ago is actually just finishing. But, I'm afraid that I am leaving now for my Sunday Dinner.

Depending on how things are going, I might play catch-up when I get back, or I might just re-join LIVE. I do want to make sure that I see the first group of Advanced Novice girls LIVE, because the two Irish girls are in it.

CaroLiza_fan

Debs 1 Men's FS starting now. Just the 4 of them.

What I'm doing at the moment will only take about 10 more minutes, so since there is a resurfacing after this group, I'll finish it off and then watch the boys on delay.

And then if there is still time before the Advanced Novices come on, I'll start watching some of the Debs 1 girls that I missed.

CaroLiza_fan

Awwww. I feel really sorry for the final Debs 1 boy to skate, #4 Louison DUFLOT-CAPIAUX (FRA). He had a real nightmare skate.

Like, it sums it up that at one point he fell, got up, and barely a couple of steps later fell again.

He was absolutely bawling his eyes out the whole time he was in the results area. There were two grown-ups trying to console him, but it wasn't working.

It was so upsetting to watch.

He went into 3rd position.

So, at least he can take heart that he wasn't last.

:ghug:

That's it for the Lakes Trophy until tomorrow. It is now time to complete the Rooster Cup, with both Advanced Novice FS competitions. 5 boys, followed by 26 girls.

CaroLiza_fan

Gabin TÉLÉMAQUE (FRA) was wearing all black. I don't know the music, but it gave me a spy film feel.

Awwww. When he went to get his scores, it was him and another boy sitting there. But there were a group of girls at the edge of the camera shot just itching to join them on the sofa. So, he waved them in. And then an older guy joined as well. And coach Emilie, who was sitting with him yesterday, was demoted to being mostly out of camera shot!

He ended up having 6 team-mates on the sofa with him.

He goes into a healthy lead in both the FS and overall.

CaroLiza_fan

That was interesting. The final Advanced Novice boy, #5 Uzumaki Zebulon WENDLER (CHE), was wearing glasses when he was waiting for his results. But wasn't when he was skating.

I could never manage without my glasses! So, my hat goes off to him!

He wins both the FS and overall.

According to the schedule, the Advanced Novice Ladies FS doesn't start until half past the hour. So, 35 minutes away.

So, I'll go back to watching the Debs 1 girls, and at the same time keep an eye out for the Advanced Novices coming on in case they start early.

CaroLiza_fan

And to end the ISU part of the event, and Sunday's action, we have the Advanced Novice Ladies FS.

It was supposed to be 26 girls, but the first of the French skaters, #2 Constance MESNIL (FRA), has withdrawn. Which means that there is now just one skater in between the Irish girls!

CaroLiza_fan

Right, here we go. Two Irish girls in the first three to skate. And the first of them is the girl who is actually from the host country.

☘️ ALL THE BEST LEXIE!!! ☘️

CaroLiza_fan

Lexie wearing a beautiful black dress with orange petticoat.

I don't know the music, but I would bet that it is from a spy or action film soundtrack.

Ach, she fell on the first jump and the last jump. But, everything in between was good.

She looks nervous waiting for her scores.

Ah, asks her coach to pass over her flask.

He then takes a photo of them together, and then one of Lexie on her own. And after her scores are announced, he hijacks a passer-by to take another photo of them together.

With the withdrawal of the skater directly above her, we know that Lexie will move up one position. But will she move further than that?

We will just have to wait and see.

:cheer: WELL DONE LEXIE!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Well, there is no question as to the theme of the next skater's programme.

The name's NAVARRO RICALDI. Bibian Esther NAVARRO RICALDI (ESP).

Bibian was wearing a black jumpsuit with gold pttern (not very James Bond, is it?), and skating to the main theme, followed by "No Time To Die".

I enjoyed that. But, then again, I do tend to enjoy James Bond programmes.

She goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

CaroLiza_fan

Now for the second of the two Irish girls.

☘️ ALL THE BEST CAOILFHIONN ☘️

CaroLiza_fan

Caoilfhionn wearing a red dress with black trim.

Skating to instrumental music that I hadn't heard before.

Popped a jump early on. And then fell on second part of her combination jump not long afterwards. But the rest was good.

Caoilfhionn's FS programme is definitely more complicated than Lexie's FS programme. I was really impressed with the complexity of the choreography.

But, if I am totally honest, if the two FS programmes were done clean, I think I would prefer Lexie's. (With the SP's, I prefered Caoilfhionn's).

She seems happy.

She goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

Now it is just a case of waiting to see if she will climb up the order.

:cheer: WELL DONE CAOILFHIONN!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

I thought the fourth skater, Elisa GALLUCCIO (ITA), skated well. But she was crying in the results area.

:ghug:

She goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

Just 0.09 points behind Caoilfhionn in the overall standings! :drama:
