3rd Maria Olszewska Memorial 2025 | Mar 5-9

Me too!! Back to work I go!! I just got told by my manager that it doesn’t seem like I was very productive this morning 😝
(I can’t tell them, excuse me, work has to wait till after my princess Lia, is done skating!!)

Well, the boys carried on the run of good results with a 1-2.

The first group of girls in the second competition are starting their Warm-Up now.

Maélia has a lot of work to do if she wants to be part of another potential Canadian 1-2. But we saw what Uxia did earlier...

Hellooo, pretty random but does anybody know if someone uploads the performances on twitter or anything after the live broadcast ends?? i totally wont be able to watch the women's sp live tomorrow and im super excited for it :(
 
Don't think I've ever seen a programme to Caro Emerald's "Coming Back As A Man" before.

But I enjoyed that one from Helena RUSZKOWSKA (POL).

We don't get enough Caro Emerald in figure skating.

She goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

I just did a search, and regular video uploaders "cloudy" and "skating archive" have uploaded videos from the Ice Dance earlier in the week.

There is also a channel that uploaded the programmes from the Ukrainian Ice Dance partnerships. And I would expect that they will upload the programmes of other Ukrainian skaters as well.

And there is a channel that is uploading all the programmes from Canadian skaters. Including the programmes that I missed a couple of hours ago when eating! :cheer:

So, I would say the chances are good.

Eh?! Tereza CZERNIKOVA (CZE) was skating to "You Raise Me Up". And it started off with the familiar tones of my fellow Ulsterman, Brian Kennedy. But then half way through, it changed to a female voice with a backing choir.

She should have stuck with the original. The second version didn't have the same feeling to it.

Have to be honest, I wouldn't be fussed on her dress. The blues are nice, but the big area of white at the side spoils the look.

But that doesn't matter. She was good.

She goes into a big lead in both the FS and overall.

Somebody at the rink has found a Gipsy Kings CD.

When Anna ZANIN (ITA) was waiting for her scores, they played "Nel Blu Di Pinto Di Blu". And then when Minea MONTONEN (FIN) was waiting for her scores, they played "Bamboléo".

What will they play for Lena KOPYTOWSKA (POL)?

EDIT: No, it's not the Gipsy Kings. I don't know the song, but it sounds like Simply Red.​

No, we're not going to get another Canadian 1-2.

Lots of mistakes for Maélia RUEL (CAN).

That said I did like the way that, on her opening element, she was able to jump, fall, and get up all in one continuous movement. That takes skill!

But, putting a positive spin on things, that black dress she is wearing is gorgeous!

She goes into 4th in the FS and 3rd overall.

I thought she was starting to cry when the scres were announced. But, she didn't.

Hey, we mightn't even get two North American skaters on the podium.

Kaya TIERNAN (USA) also had lots of mistakes.

Maybe there is a curse in Łódź against North American skaters who wear beautiful black dresses.

She goes into 2nd in the FS and 1st overall.

So, she will get a medal after all.

Hannah QUINN (CAN) didn't have a perfect skate either. But for me, she was better than Kaya TIERNAN (USA).

She was skating to Susan Boyle's version of "I Dreamed A Dream".

There was barely anything between them after the SP. So, it could go either way.

But it goes Hannah's.

She wins the FS and overall.

Wow!! So many medals won by Canada at this event.

I really wanted to watch Hannah’s free skate. I’m shocked she beat the 12th best junior lady skater from USA.

So, I think it is 3/3 gold 🥇
2/3 silver🥈

Too bad I can’t rewatch. I would have liked to rewatched calmly tonight. Oh well.
