I knowIt was a joke, kiddo.
He sometimes uses "Adam Siao", so I think it's fine to refer to him this way.On Chinese names.
I guess I am late to the party, but…
Adam Siao Him Fa. Have I got this right? Adam is his personal name and Siao Him Fa is his family name. Siao Him Fa was his grandfather’s full name, or some other ancestor in the paternal line. That is, the grandfather’s fanily name was Siao (Cantonese?) and the grandfather’s personal name was Him Fa).
So it would be OK to refer to this skater as Adam Siao (using western name order) but Adam Fa is wrong. Is that it?
(Sorry if this has already been explained on this thread and I just didn’t spot it.)
i believe siao is the chinese family name, and him fa is his first ancestor to arrive in mauritius' given name - adam's siblings also use the surname siao him fa (his brother used to compete domestically in france years and years ago under benjamin siao him fa)I'm from Singapore, and how Adam writes his name is the same way many Chinese Singaporeans and Malaysians with both English and Chinese given names write their full name in our systems. So:
Adam is his French given name, Siao is his family name, Him Fa is his Chinese given name.
That's why Adam Siao is also perfectly correct but Adam Fa is wrong.
(side note - I've seen people correcting Jackie Wong when he sometimes refers to Adam as Adam Siao - Jackie is not wrong. It's kind of like referring to Ava Marie Ziegler as Ava Ziegler - both options are fine, and in fact her name on Instagram is Ava Ziegler in the same way Adam's name on Instagram is Adam Siao.)

The place he was training in reflects his class and his elegant skating!
