Adelina Sotnikova

I think her plans are to do a challenger series as well.

It's a good move to do Nebelhorn or Finlandia ahead of her GP assignments. She may want to even do two as a warm-up so when she appears at GP series her programs will be a well-oiled machine. Miniature version of what Liza did last year?

I thought she's not going to any GP events?

Kind of why it's strange to be holding a presser. I thought that the fed said they would announce if she got CoR after the test skate and based on her level of skating. I'm very curious to see what comes of this

Will start her season at Cup of Russia Samara (Sept 17) per coach.

"We Adeline individual plan. When we distributed the competition in May, for a year and consulted with the federation, they decided: it will begin to start on the Cup of Russia, and after each start with the Federation will discuss what starts should go, and what is not right. So let's start with the first stage of the Cup of Russia in Samara (commercial tournament) Japan Open, included in the plans and "Challenger" in Saransk, and there are going to look, "- said Buyanova at a press conference.

so no GP then??

Right now no. They are going to take it one comp at a time it seems and ask the federation what comps she should/shouldn't enter. I guess so far they have only approved Cup of Russia (Samara) Sept 17th, Japan Open, and Mordovian Ornament (Saransk) Oct. 15th.

Hearing that they were doing things one step at a time before, I thought it is the best for Ade due to precautions and preparation. However, thinking about it and now seeing their plan makes me question their decision. I was honestly expecting her to compete more in the upcoming months. I really don't get this shielding of the RusFed. Yulia had a terrible last season yet she has a pass-and-go card from the federation to compete in the new season. Okay not the best comparison but in this instance where both skaters want to compete internationally and one is able to do so and the other is not, it's just so baffling and frustrating to think about.

Yeah I can write an article on this. I think Sam-S best summed it up and I got nothing more to say. But I agree with you. B/S missed due to injury and so did V/T and they are not being shielded (different situation I know.............)
