Alena Kostornaia

there's a Twilight marathon on TV right now...kinda seems like it's a good omen for Aliona this weekend ;)

thank you 1TV for posting Aliona's interview :) She seems like a positive person, as well as being quite driven and hardworking, of course. Very kind words about her coaching team as well, you can see she really appreciates them.

According to the planned program content, Aliona will go for the 3A in her SP!

I wonder how the program has been modified to add in the 3A? Hopefully we will get some practice clips :)

Would it be possible to keep the Ina Bauer entry for the 3A?

It sounds insanely hard to me, but maybe Aliona can do it.

I’ve arrived in Grenoble for IDF. I was too late to head to the practices today but will be there for the whole event so I will try and get some good pics of alena to post here! Wishing her all the best! I’m so excited to see her live [emoji846]

Actually the ladies practice starts at 3:45pm local time and Aliona is in the second group that starts around 4:30pm so you could make it if you want to!!

I’m doing the touristy type things today so I can fit in the practices for the rest of the weekend! I had to decide between practices today or tomorrow [emoji23]

She's so mature, so aware of herself and the people around her. Very inspiring to learn what drives her with the interview.

I’m getting nervous for her after a tough runthru. Someone reported on twitter when she got off she re-laced her skate so hopefully that was the issue. I really hope she can put this behind her and skate confidently tomorrow. It’s kind of strange they only have 1 practice today - would be nice for her to have another chance to iron things out. I wonder if she will scale back the 3As if she is still having issues tomorrow. I just hate seeing her upset.

just posted this in the Russian ladies thread but was deleted due to competition rules, so here is a condensed version that hopefully is ok...

IMO she looks tired, the mistakes she is making aren't due to technique error. she may be jet lagged. tomorrow is a new day, and and she will come back fighting.

Coach of the group Eteri Tutberidze Sergey Dudakov said that the fall of Alena is not related to the quality of the ice.

"The ice in the arena is good, everything is fine. It was a technical nuance, everything is good, " Dudakov was quoted as saying by TASS.
