Batsuchan, if you could translate what they say, we would greatly appreciate it!!

My pleasure!! Thank you for finding these videos because I've been waiting for a Japanese version to be posted!! :thank:

Here it is! I omitted most of the background comments the male announcer made, and the comments where Shizuka just says what kind of jump or spin was done.

SP
Before she starts, the male announcer mentions that she won the JGP Final last year.
After 3A: "Very good. The flow out of the jump is extremely good."
After 3Lz: "Very stable. There's no break."
During the step sequence: "While showing light and easy movements, she deeply and clearly performs the edge work and steps, and that's why she's a skater who gets high scores on the step sequence." The male announcer then mentions that among the 3 first-year seniors, Aliona gets the best PCS scores.
After she finishes, the male announcer says, "She showed us a beautiful performance! It's her first Final, and she had to skate first, and in this stressful environment, she had confidence and skated freely."

During the replays:
Shizuka says, "She had good speed going into the 3A and good height on the jump. She also fully rotated 3.5 times, so she's going to get very good GOE on this jump. And then the solo jump, the triple lutz, was also very good--there was absolutely no break/wavering." The male announcer mentions that Aliona holds the SP world record score, and Shizuka says, "Not just the jumps, but also the steps and spins were level 4 and should receive high GOEs, so I think she'll receive a very big score today too."
Then when the score comes up, the male announcer says, "At the Final, suddenly we have a new world record! On this big stage, she's reached an even higher height!"

FS:
Before she starts, the male announcer mentions, "she had confidence and refreshed her world record score in the short--16-year old Kostornaia. Last year's JGPF winner is now, one year later, aiming to win the gold medal at the senior GPF."
After 3A+2T: "Good height."
After 3A: "Very good!" "Good height!"
After 3Lo: "Very clean."During step sequence: "Her edge work is very clear."
Male announcer: "Over the 2 competitions of the GP series, she was the only skater who got all level 4s on all her spins and steps. She did not lose a level even once!" [Of course he says this right before her steps are judged level 3! ]
3F+3T combo: "Her air position is very nice."3F+1Eu+3S: "Very good. She generated good speed."
Dance break: "With this expressiveness, she charms the audience."
3Lz: "Wonderful!" "She landed this too!"
Combo spin: "The change of positions is very smooth."
At the end, the male announcer says "she finished her performance beautifully! The leading lady of the new generation of ladies. Kostornaia showed us a wonderful performance. Last year's JGPF winner showed us that performance on the senior stage. [cut to Alina] Soon we'll see the final skater, who will decide the result of the competition--queen [i.e., World champion] Zagitova enters the rink."

Replays:
Male announcer: "Kostornaia's level of perfection is amazing, isn't it?"
Shizuka, "Very much. From before, she was always a skater who completed every element--jumps, spins, steps--consistently, but this year with this program, which includes triple axels, she been able to get high GOEs on everything. There have been many competitions where she hasn't made a single mistake."
Male announcer: "At last year's Junior Final, she did not do a triple axel, so over this past year she's shown improvement."
Shizuka: [during solo 3A replay] "Yes. It's the height. While generating good speed, that height. [3F+3T combo] The air position. She's a skater who shows extremely good flow [on the landing], so it's easy to give her high GOEs; it's easy to appreciate her jumps because they're very clear.
Male announcer: "When asked whose triple axel she uses as a model/reference, she said Mao Asada's. There are four skaters who won the Junior GPF and then won the Senior GPF the following year: Mao Asada, Yuna Kim, Medvedeva, Zagitova--and they are all Olympic gold and silver medalists. Kostornaia's personal best in the FS is 159.45. She doesn't have a quad, but she's able to fight using her high level of perfection."
Shizuka: "Yes, today as well she was able to do many wonderful elements that will receive high GOEs."
After the total score comes up, the male announcer says that she was able to break both the SP and the overall world record scores at the Final.

I have to say, the super high-res video makes Aliona's pink hair very obvious. What did she do to her hair?!

I don't think I've ever read/heard anywhere else that Aliona uses Mao's 3A as a reference, but that's cool if it's true! :agree:

Thanks for posting this video SS it’s an interesting look at Aliona’s training. She looks rock steady to me but maybe holding back just a little you can tell at the end there she wants to keep going!

Welcome Hammer24! Please post long and often! :agree:

For some reason, these dance videos always make me  Maybe because they'd never dance like that in a real competitive program?
I guess Aliona does have her own sense of timing ;) But I also think she has the best hip action of the girls.

As for Aliona and quads, Daniil did an interview after GPF, which Edwin translated here:
https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/s...ridze-Effect&p=2537294&viewfull=1#post2537294

-- Alyona Kostornaya won the senior Grand Prix finals, as a year ago the junior final in Vancouver. What can you say about her performance in Turin?

- Alyona deservedly won the Gold medal. She cleanly performed two programs. She was great in choreography. She showed that you can score huge points and set world records with the content she has.

We will continue to work. One must progress anyway. Let's wait and see, if there is an opportunity, we will start learning the quadruples. It’s hard to talk about this while the season is going on, because there’s no time for it, and the risk of injury is too high.

Some wonderful photos of Aliona at the GPF here:

For this photo, the caption says, "Overwhelming beauty beauty beauty beauty. This is skater that I wanted to photograph at least once."

I share these also because I happened to meet the person who runs this account at Skate America!

I noticed her improved hip movements too! Maybe it’s because she actually has hips it looks more natural compared to everyone else 🤣 but it seems much less awkward than her old dancing videos.

I really wish we could see something from a slower style for Aliona’s dancing videos. I don’t think the fast paced dances suit her as much.

I agree, I think a more lyrical style would suit her better. But I think that might be the point--to get them to try to dance "outside their comfort zone."

Yep, pretty sure one of the purposes of the dance lessons is to work with a variety of music and styles. Anna is pretty obviously the best here, but Aliona isn't too bad. She's not really committing herself to this dance though - forget finishing the movements, she's almost marking them at places, like the back bend in the middle, where everybody else seems to go for it, and she just leans back a smidgen behind the vertical.

As a native Russian speaker I can say that this post was written a little be incorrectly.

Well, the person that typed the post doesn't know the correct Russian terms too, it seems - "quadruple jumps" are "четверные прыжки", not "четверТные" :)

Hello Russian speakers! Can someone please translate what Sima said about Aliona's triple axel here? I couldn't understand what the GoogleTranslate translation meant--"during the landing, she goes to the south"??

Thanks!

Thanks!

She is talking about things that impressed her this season, and she said that there weren’t any big news (this interview was done before Alina’s announcement). “The only thing that was funny is the award ceremony at IdF, where they gave Aliona’s gold medal to Mariah Bell. In general, I was surprised by her 3A. I thought she’d be scared (to do it). But she did it in both short and free - and she did them pretty well. I never saw a 3A this good from any boy. It’s a perfect jump. I think she can add another rotation to it.

During the landing she “drifts”. It means that her shoulders are over rotating. Sasha Trusova had this on her 4S during Japan Open - her leg kept going further, but she stopped herself and started the “drift”.”

The last part I believe is Serafima praising Aliona and Sasha for over rotating their jumps.

I really hope this doesn’t happen again too 🙏 I’m thinking positive thoughts in Aliona’s direction.

Well she has potentially only three more events this season her fantastic debut season as a senior. Then she can rest. I wonder if she will miss Nationals and rest up for euros. If she is fit her spot for Euro should be certain as a aliona has been the best skater in the world this season.

Thank you very much nussacker! :thank:
Very nice praise from Sima. :luv17: But I wonder why she thought Aliona would be afraid to do the 3A...? I can't remember if they were training with Team Tutberidze at the same time--if so, maybe Sima saw her struggling with it in practice...?

**

Separately, I think we *might* be getting way ahead of ourselves with this talk about Aliona being injured and maybe missing Nationals! She was seen in the Japanese video with Alina a day or two ago, and she was in that dance video yesterday, so maybe she's fine...? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No, I don’t think they ever trained together, Sima left before Aliona came.
I think it’s probably coming from the fact that this is a new jump for Aliona, so Sima thinks it could be scary/nerve wracking to go for a new jump?

Yeah, and Sima actually said that although Eteri has a reputation of a somewhat careless coach now, Sima completely disagrees with it, as from her experience Eteri was always very careful with the health of her students. So if there’s something with Aliona, it’s probably something minor, and if not, they’ll probably give her the care that she needs.

Careful, I have no doubts they are. But, unless there is an extreme emergency, I doubt they would go farther than counseling. And eve a strong advice, backed by doctors, may not deter a very determined skater. :-/

But I really hope this complain she had at GPF was nothing very serious, and she is well now.

This is from Sima's interview, which I shared on the previous page:
https://sport24.ru/news/other/2019-...evoy-khanyu-chetvernom---foto-video-instagram

GoogleTranslate:
When I skated with Eteri Georgievna, I asked to teach me four things. She told me that it was dangerous and that it was better to take care of yourself. She has such fame that she does not protect her athletes, but this is not so. She cherished us very much and didn’t want us to go fours. She was also afraid that the triple would go wrong.

So Sima is basically saying that other people say that Eteri "doesn't protect her athletes," but Sima completely disagrees.
