So, there’s this video of Aliona skating what appears to be a program with You Should See me in a Crown by Billie Eilish at Kostornaiateam’s Ig.

We are all getting sucked into a coaching battle that, perhaps the two groups are using to generate controversy and therefore money around, but nonethless, I do think this image suits her better than lovely... Though, the choreography looks somewhat similar, doesn't it. Who knows what goes on in the mind of these people who are apparently supposed to be adults. If Aliona is happier working with Plushenko, then that really is the important detail here.

I was thinking the same as a poster above that she may miss test skates, but it was really just a small idea planted there by the yappers at TSL who are similar to the coaches in that they'll just create controversy for the sake of it. But this clip makes me think that really was just drama and that she likely will appear. TBH, I think it would look even worse for her to miss test skates, if we're considering an image. Even last year she was injured, didn't have the step sequence fully worked out in the FS and still attended, so I'd say that we can probably expect to see her there.

If not, I will be so disappointed, her first competitions aren't for basically two months, correct?

Well, they still could be at Russian Nationals together, or maybe they might even get assigned to the same GP events. So, never say never...? :biggrin:

Yes, but at last year's test skates, she was seen as maybe #4/#5 in the national team, behind the reigning World champ (Alina) and the other ladies with quads/triple axels (Anna, Sasha, Liza). She hadn't skated competitively since Junior Nationals because of her injury, and we didn't know what to expect.

This time around, there's going to be a ton of attention on her because of the coaching drama, and she's coming in as the most successful lady on the international circuit in the 19-20 season. So I think there will be a lot of pressure on her to skate well, and I'm not sure it's a good idea to show up at the test skates with half-baked programs if she's not quite in competitive shape.

Of course, if Aliona IS ready to go, then game on! :hap10:

As for the new Billie Eilish song--personally, as a piece of music, I prefer "Joke's on you," but the lyrics to "You should see me in a crown" are just :rofl: and :devil:
The Russian critics often accuse Aliona of "wearing a crown" (i.e., being conceited and acting like she's better than everybody else), so if she does skate to this and pull it off, it will really be fire! :rofl:

And maybe it wasn't Plushenko's suggestion at all, but Aliona's? :biggrin:

Perhaps she was told to not make too large an emphasis on her smile because from a marketing standpoint that would make her appear as a brand ambassador, or as someone who is making money modeling/posing for photos of her teeth with it? She just got the sponsorship and since they practice oral care, they may only want smiles/teeth that have been put under their marketing microscope to be used to sell the product.

Edit: I just googled their brand and it seems as though many individuals smile/pose like Aliona when receiving awards for the brand so I may not have been far off. :yes2:

Foxes always remind me of something seasonal, so maybe she’ll be skating to all the seasons, not just invierno porteño? I mean, not that invierno porteño is confirmed, but last season she used the angel and vampire so my first thought was “this is related to this years programs!”
