Alena Kostornaia

Aliona and her friend (a medical student!). Glad to see she has friends that share her passion for medical studies.
It says sorry this page isn't available.

Is she really back training? I expect alyona to make the Russian cup especially since it's supposedly being backed up date wise to a later date.

She can take her time in training too.

Whenever I watch the competitions in Russia, I see so many coaches wearing their masks with their noses out... just why?? Do they think they look cuter that way or what?
TBH wearing the mask under the nose bothers me like 100 times more than not wearing a mask at all. Like, there's literally no point in it, it protects no one, you're breathing in through your nose AND breathing out of your nose. It's been 10 months and I still can't understand how can one even be comfortable with the mask under the nose, - it pulls on your ears, it itches your nose....

Actually there is a point (and not small) in it. Normal mask (not a FFP2/3 ones) are design to protect others, not the person wearing. That's why surgeons started to wear it during operations long time ago (not to protect themselves - but to protect patient).
Protect from small smallest drops of liquid from our mouth that we exhale when we speak mostly (that basically contains most respiratory pathogens). Yes, some drops are still exhaled through the nose (that's why it is also have to be covered).
But most are still though the mouth when we speak, so cover only mouth still helps a lot.

While it does help to a degree, airborne transmission plays a big part of how this virus is spread. So I don't think covering your mouth helps nearly enough. There are risks with a properly worn mask too, let alone an improperly worn one.

We really need her back skating. The Russian Cup final would be nice. It will be alyona big Liza and lttle Liza for the 3rd spot at worlds.
Obviously Anna and Sasha are the first 2.

Alyona should know how to wear a mask by now. Especially since she's had covid 19 and she wants to be a doctor. But her new mentor wears his mask like that. That's not setting a good example. As others here have pointed out it's better not wearing a mask at all than to wear it improperly.

Hopefully we'll see videos of alyona practicing soon.

I'm not on Instagram so I can't see anything.

What do you mean by alyona has her own house? She would have no reason to live anywhere but at her parents home at this point in her life.
Plushenko Academy recently built a new rink just outside of Moscow. They also built (or bought I don't know) Aliona, Sasha, and Yulia Lipnitskaya their own houses nearby so they don't have to do the long commute from the city when they are training/coaching there. He's showing those houses in his IG story.
I assume Aliona and Sasha will have adult family members with them when staying there.

Thank you.

Sometimes I forget how big is a Moscow is.

Just curious but how do these girls get to practice from home and then from practice to home? I'm hoping their parents drive them and they're not on the train. I hope aliona likes her cottage. I'm sure she will.
