"We decided to please Alena before the training camp and presented her with a certificate to the store of her favorite sportswear brand "Reebok"! Today we bought new clothes for her😍 Alena was pleasantly surprised by the surprise, she sends all her fans a big thank you for such a gift."


Btw, what about the collaboration between Aliona and GUESS? I wonder if anything actually happened about this or it was only GUESS teasing us, fans on Twitter... :scratch2:

It is really pretty. I think one of the best ones she had recently.
I think past season was very hard on her mentally. I can imagine she still has a hard time forgetting about it all together and just moving on, so perhaps this is supposed to help her with that. She probably just wanted to put away everything that was associated with the last season and that dress would’ve been a constant reminder of it whenever she opened her closet.
 
Brings up a question I never gave much thought.. What do skaters usually do with costumes once the season is over? Guess dresses can be used over two seasons though I cannot remember if I have ever noted it. Are they sold on consignment? I imagine the value of a garment would increase if worn by a well known skater in a popular performance. Do skaters ever swap dresses?

usually skaters keep them and just put them away after they're done using them. they hold a lot of sentimental value. sometimes they are sold, sometimes others borrow them (Ashley Wagner used Marissa Castelli's dress for her first round with HHCC, Alina used Evgenia's Don Quixote dress in her junior season). skaters also like to use them for shows.

Thank you for the insight.. really interesting topic. The dresses from Aliona’s last season were not my favorites TBH.. styling was totally “off” for her tiny frame IMO so It makes perfect sense she should pass them on and begin the next season with a clean slate. Cannot wait to see her costumes coming up. Wonder if she kept her “Angel” and “Twilight” dresses..

i think she did keep Twilight, i believe she performed it in an ex a couple months ago.
