Alena Kostornaia

Let's just say she's cute as hell, but I hope it was a one-time occasion going public with this performance...
When Alena just talks, she has a very peculiar voice - some very childish. In the comments to various interviews, she was often advised to take up voicing for cartoons for children after completing her career.

Once in the USSR there was an actress Klara Rumyanova, who had a similar voice. She was mainly engaged in voicing cartoons. Unlike Alena, she could sing. So you can listen to one of these songs, imagining that it is Kostornaya singing:

Thanks for the translation Alex.

i'm very excited to see what her programs will be since one (or both?) will be an old one reworked. really hoping for adios nonino!
I thought immediately to Adios Nonino but I checked myself: it's not forgotten and would she call it sharp?
We don't know if the long forgotten program will be the Short or the Free?
I'm sad to learn how hard she was hit mentally by quarantine and all, yet relieved that she managed so well to overcome these difficult moments.
I'm very happy that she keeps contact with her former training mates too!

Alex Fedorov, thank you so much, this was a lot of work! I suppose the lounge means the harness?

I suppose the lounge means the harness?
Lounge in figure skating looks like this:

Usually our skaters call this device "удочка"("oudochka", a fishing rod).

By the way, the expression "if, if, if yes, if mushrooms grew in your mouth" - this is a Russian proverb, indicating the fragility and illusory nature of any logical constructions that begin with the words "if would".

And "we are not losing a cow." - an idiom used when the consequences of a decision are unknown, but it is clear that there will be no catastrophe anyway.

I just realized that I love figure skating so much, I love performing. It's not that the result is not important to me - naturally, the result matters. The first you or the tenth is a significant difference. But I realized that I love to perform, I love to compete, I love to go out on the ice, knowing that a huge number of people are looking at me. I especially love it when everything works out for me, all the audience applauds - this moment makes me euphoric.
And this is exactly why amongst all these talented skaters out there right now, she is the one whose performances stand out. She is truly a once in a generation talent.
