Traler for a documentary about Aliona Kostornaia:
Excerpts from the documentary, subbed in English.
On leaving Eteri's group:
Training with Georgy:
He's not in the second video, that's just Aliona, Georgy and their current coach. Zhelezniakov does appear in other clips from the documentary, though. They asked Zhelezniakov? Did they get Alyona Kostornaia's agreement for releasing a documentary featuring him? He's so bad mouthed about Team Tutberidze's students, in a way showing a deep ignorance of human body, lack of any proper feeling or anything, that I can't understand why he's still there, and I do link him to the deterioration of the team's ballet/dance abilities. Is he on both IG videos? I don't want to hear/watch that man anymore!
Tomorrow the second (and final) episode of our film with Stereotactic “Parallel Rotation” comes out – it is built around the test skates and what happened after them. You will be able to hear Alena almost immediately after she and Gosha decided to take a break in their careers – it was a very sincere, emotional and determined monologue.
After the first episode there were many questions about whether the scene with the eggs was staged, why the guys agreed (and we showed) such candid footage from training – with falls, tears and conflicts: like, wouldn’t it have been better to draw a beautiful picture of an eternal honeymoon at home and on the ice.
It seems to me very important, just as the characters try to separate their personal lives and work, to draw a line between the most replicated image of Alena – “Angel” – and her own character: impulsive, explosive, sometimes prickly. In many ways, it was he who made her a star, who is awaited on the ice even after long breaks, a change of discipline and a ban from the national team.
Not the most typical story for a sport where children are put on skates by some people, and led to medals by others: Alena still communicates well with her first coaches. In an interview, she told how she went to the rink to Marina Cherkasova to set programs for her students, and asked Elena Zhgun to help with jumps when she and Kunitsa had already formed a pair. The coaches, in turn, speak about Kostornaya with great warmth and sympathy.
We talked a lot with Sergei Roslyakov about how he himself reacts to Alena's emotionality and straightforwardness, which frightens many. I really liked his answer - as always ironic and at the same time balanced:
"Either accept her or not accept her. She will simply finish and that's it. An era will simply pass, so to speak. The person's opportunity to skate will also pass. If you push it, push it too much, it will refuse and break. It will say: "**** it." That's how it will be. This is Kostornaya."
A post from Aliona and Georgy's instagram fan page on the documentary, Parallel Rotation:

What Aliona and Georgi are doing now?
Saw few clips of the documentary... imho Georgi is almost sacrificing his life for Aliona- so patient and understanding. He deserves a gold medal.
