Alexa Scimeca Knierim & Chris Knierim

Triple twist and lifts...:luv17: geez this program certainly tugs at the heartstrings... that's a good thing btw! They seem so happy to be competing, loving every minute. Good luck good vibes in the free!!! :hap10: :hap85:: :cheer:

Gorgeous new video of the Knierims:

The comments from Alexa and Chris also are wonderful.
I like esp. what Chris says right near the top about usually being known as really quiet at the rink ... but that around Alexa, he couldn't stop talking :ghug:.
And just adorable that Chris is the one who chimes in with the exact date of their marriage, after Alexa mentioned only the month and year.

The video is from Wintrust, "Chicago's Bank" -- which is supporting the Knierims as part of "Chicago's Team" of Olympic/Paralympic athletes and hopefuls.

Another Wintrust video about the entire group belonging to "Chicago's Team":

BTW, Jason Brown also is on the team.

Absolutely beautiful films, especially the skating closeups of Jason's feet and his jumps from unusual angles, and the Knierims' lift/throw closeups in B&W plus that exquisite ending pose is a bonus..

Alexa and Chris did great today! Good Luck to them in the LP - If they are clean, they should remain in first place.

CONGRATS TO ALEXA AND CHRIS! WELL DESERVED! :hap10: :dance2: Alexa's tears in the kiss & cry was so heartening to watch. They have been through so much and worked so hard and I hope they have the greatest competition at the Olympics!

So proud of the Knierams and so happy for them! Had a chance to congratulate them in person at the Friends of Figure Skating breakfast on Sunday. They were SO happy! That quad twist of theirs is so amazing! https://pic.twitter.com/aV97CRM1oY

They were so great in the SP and I love seeing how happy they are. They're really soaking in the experience.

Just saw this on Twitter and am still chuckling. Holy moly! What a move!

I love that shot. I'm so happy for Alexa and Chris! They really already created an Olympic moment. That's the best sbs 3S I've ever seen them do... wish I could see their whole program again.

It's clear that, as Alexa said, they have no expectations, they're at the Olympics to have fun ... it's really working. No one else has any expectations for them either. Someone in the comp thread ... SarahSynchro I think said "Alexa be havin' the time of her life." :luv17: So true. Her smile was a mile wide. As Johnny reminded us, they had high hopes to be one of the teams in Sochi, so that disappointment may have helped their determination to just appreciate the moment here.

I  Alexa and Chris and how they are loving the Oly experience. Who would have thought they would bring as many points to the team event table as they did?

Also  to them for doing every event, team and individual, without complaint and in fact with good cheer. True Olympic spirit!

I think Alexa and Chris may be an example of skaters who are motivated and helped by being part of the larger team. I keep "hearing" in my head, Evan Bates (captain of the team event in either 2015 or 2016, can't remember which) saying that Alexa and Chris deserved special thanks for outdoing themselves to get US the win there.

During the opening ceremony last night Chris was walking beside Nathan and you could see Alexa's legs on his shoulder. He carried her into the stadium. I was yelling at NBC to show them.
