In the interview after his SP Sasha said fatigue played a part as this is his 9th start. Although he also said that competing was good practice too.

Ultimately, I don't think there is any "perfect strategy" - everything has its pros and cons - its rewards and risks. One can only do what seems the wisest at the time. Still, for the most part in those competitions he has been impressively consistent - I think we can "allow" him one really bad skate ;) - and not let it mar what he has achieved thus far.

(I was going to say "meltdown" - but oddly enough... bad as it was... it didn't seem like a "meltdown" to me... Yes, maybe I'm making no sense, but... what can I say?:))

"Aberration" is what I call today. An aberration. At least he showed us some great dancing skills. Maybe that's why he's so popular among the girls.

That was very cute! He has a good attitude, no matter what.

Hopefully the rink situation is somewhat better now that they have the new school, with less need to travel for better conditions.

Kind of going off track now but what can you do... So about him being popular among girls, do you guys think he has a girlfriend? :yay:

Yes he does. Katya (Ekaterina) Vysotina, another skater from Mishin's group. Dating for at least a year.

Ari said the new rink will take at least a year to complete. Meanwhile they skate at the old place. :(

Oh, I was thinking they might be a couple but wasn't sure  but thank you for confirming.
Just to let others know, she has confirmed so a number of times on her askfm, so this is not gossip. I wouldn't have said it if I wasn't sure.

I was thinking maybe now that they have an official school, they could book special blocks of time or something to make it less crowded for their students, but I guess it's not that easy. :ohwell:

He looks so mature these days, I can't believe it's the same kid I saw at Junior Worlds less than a year ago.

He already has that look of determination and self-belief. Let's hope it serves him well in Junior Worlds.

Happy New Year Sasha! :)
December was a difficult month but you soldiered on.
I wish you good health and much success in the new year! :cheer:
