Yeah, true, it's good that he received second highest PCS given that he did not get the name recognition or #1 skater boost.Well, it's good to know the warm-up isn't any kind of anomaly. No need to knock out quads in warm-ups when they aren't even allowed in the short, like a certain Mishin student used to.
I agree 1.5 points is more like it (though Adian skated wonderfully and improved his presentation; I'm proud of him too). I'm grateful Sasha got second-highest PCS at all, since his momentum got derailed after two bad competitions and he's only Russian #2.

I bet many many coaches are being puzzled right now, what's the point of improving the jumping quality at all? Heck. But believe me, it's just junior worlds, many did very well at junior worlds never did well at senior, and many who did not well at junior turned out to get huge success in the senior. Junior is not the end. And it's not even the beginning.
I think the veteran coaches all know how the system works. That's why Mishin does all this PR stuff for Liza. It's not enough just to skate well. There a lot of non-skating factors that affect PCS and GOE.
As for seniors, we'll see. The top 5-6 in today's SP will probably all be in seniors next season. So the competition will resume there.
Perhaps due to the camera work. I did not notice a slimmer look but I did think he looked marginally taller (hard to say for sure).

I just love that SP - one of my favourites of the season, regardless of category. (Yes, I've said it before, I know!
) I wish him the best for the FS - I'm supposing that with the news that he's been ill, we can count out any quad attempt? Well, regardless of how it goes, he's got a small medal at least.
As for how he looks - I do think he looks a bit taller. And older. There's a certain age in boys' development when they tend to look a tad - or a lot in some cases - gangly and weedy; all legs and arms. I'm not sure that can be entirely avoided if they do pull some height. He still looks good to me, though.
