Alexander Petrov

My guess would be Benoit Richaud (? if I recall his name correctly?) - I don't know what led me to it, but I just sort of assumed it was he.
Yup, that's definitely my guess too. Because Sasha had it choreographed at the Tartu camp, while Richaud was there.

Starting order for SP:
1st in group 4.

The schedule for group 4 according to the website:
14th 1815hr practice (not sure if he'll be there)
15th 2200 hr practice
16th 0800hr practice, 1545hr SP competition
All times in local Nice time, GMT+2.

I checked the starting order for today and it somehow made me really nervous. Just hoping everything goes smoothly for Sasha today and tomorrow. :)

Yeah, I watched it live also. The jumps looked really easy and effortless, especially the 3lz+3t
And as you said the costume isn't actually too bad.
TES is a bit low considering his layout. Might be a spin level issue. Will have to see the protocols. But regardless, I'm going to count this as a clean performance. And every clean performance is great, something positive to build on for the future.

75.80 (40.05 + 35.75). Did not attempt quad . All things considered he did well considering Mishin is not with him. I don't know why he's not there.

Anyway, the costume looks fine at least he stands out.

:) So, are we getting used to The Shirt, then? ;) Really, though, I think it the clearer one sees it, the less bad it looks... :)

Anyway, great performance!

First when I read here that Papa Mishin wasn't there, I was surprised - all right, actually, I was shocked. I wondered: Where could he be?!? But then it struck me... maybe he simply is indisposed? I mean, he is human, after all, isn't he? He just seems so indistructible that one cannot imagine him being incommoded by anything - even something as commonplace as the sniffles, for example.

Maybe that's the strategy - Papa Mishin wants Sasha to have a few clean skates under his belt before he starts adding in more challenging content. (Like Liza, last year.) After all, the latter half of Sasha's season last year was a bit... tricksy. Plus maybe he wants to introduce Sasha onto the senior scene a bit... cautiously at first, and let him get comfortable with it. Well, we'll see as the season progresses what happens - early days yet.

Yes, I am used to THAT SHIRT now. lol

Very smooth performance, I'm pleased with his effort. Of course I would like the score to be higher but whatever.

As for Mishin, I think we'll find out tomorrow when the ladies competition takes place. No further comment on this issue.

I don't have a problem with Sasha not having a quad planned for the SP. Consistency is more important at this stage.

Oh no… do you know what injury specifically?
No idea. At the Igora exhibition, the first showcase of his SP in July, the lady who recorded the video said on FSO that Mishin explained that Sasha had an injury and would not be jumping. So he did the SP run-through without jumps. After that Sasha posted two pics of a government medical centre in St Petersburg and geotagged himself there.

Edit:
He did attend both summer camps a few weeks later though, so it probably wasn't too serious. But at the first camp in Erzurum Turkey, he had altitude sickness.
