Alexander Petrov

That's possible but Savosin (the third skater going to JWs) has no quad and only recently mastered a 3A.
Oh well. I hope maybe that he will be allowed to do some senior B later on? To get his SB and ranking higher in order to have a better chance for 2 GPs next season.

I mean optimistically (actually way too optimistically, to the poit where it's already stupid) thinking the fed could be planning on maybe sending Sasha to senior worlds.
No, I don't think that's very likely but there is always a small chance.

Well, all we can do as fans is to be optimistic right? :ghug:

Always optimistic! :ghug:

Anyway, Sasha will be leaving for Euros soon, won't he? I'm hoping for good things for him there - and for myself... an opportunity to watch his great programs on the telly again! :) Livestreams and Youtube are all well and good - I am, in fact, extremely grateful that these exist! - but being able to see him on a proper TV screen, is something else.:)

I think they will be leaving on Sunday morning. That's my educated guess. :)

It seems my initial guess was right then. Sasha is on his way to Bratislava. He's currently in Moscow enroute to Vienna after which he will take a bus to Bratislava.

St Petersburg (plane) > Moscow (plane) > Vienna (bus) > Bratislava.

By the time he arrives in Bratislava it will be night time there.

I'm thankful for his update though. :)

Great to hear - I hope he has a nice trip; and a good night's sleep on arrival.

Sasha's practice session begins in about an hour's time. If he's attending this first session, hopefully there will be some pics or reports.

Edit:
The draw will be at 10.15am tomorrow (26th).

There's very little being reported about the practice sessions, no reports about the final practice group. But as far as I can tell, Sasha was the only Russian team member to have arrived in Bratislava yesterday. There are some pictures of the arena itself and how they are preparing it for the competition, you can take a look at the photos here:

There is of course another practice session tonight (at the practice rink, not the main rink) at 9pm.

I think it's great that they are there early - it gives Sasha time to settle in, and get over any travel fatigue. The SP is on Wednesday, isn't it?

Yes, Wed evening.
I've just checked social media. It's true, the rest of the Russian team is still in Vienna waiting for the bus to Bratislava. There's also another group on a later flight which departed for Vienna not long ago.

From Nationals. Some of the best photos I've seen of his SP. The first one is really just :luv17: .
Taken by the photographer called Tat Tat. On one of the Russian forums she said that before Nationals she hadn't paid much attention to Sasha but when she watched him in person, he created such a wonderful experience that he instantly became one of her favourites. She said that Sasha "produces, not through the screen but the eyes, such a marvellous impression".
